Yeah, I'm interested in keeping track of that number to see if i beat more or less than the 72 games I beat last year. I imagine it'll be much less this time, as i'm playing a lot of longer games this time.Luke wrote:Not at all. When you phrase it like that it makes perfect sense. What the hell, I'd even add a total number next post.dsheinem wrote: Plus, I'd like to be able to compare from year to year how many games I have played (and at what point in the year) so a running total helps me do this.

Just beat Final Fantasy X.
Re: Games Beaten: 2010
I missed that one when it first came out. I really enjoyed FFIX but I couldn't afford a PS2 for the longest time, so when I finally got one FFX was kind of off of my radar.emwearz wrote:Just beat Final Fantasy X.
Also, make a list of what you've beat this year!
Re: Games Beaten: 2010
I am not the fussed about what I have beaten this year to be honest, a few weeks back I realised I am just playing too many games and not finishing them so I started recording games I have beaten (overall) on backloggery (none of this 'finish/completed' crap, everything is just completed if I have seen the credits).
I will go through it and make up a little list from this year and post later.

emwearz 2010 games completed list!
I have got to the ending credits on all of the following games.

F Zero really frustrated me, so I downloaded a few games to play. Kinda against the point of trying to reduce my backlog, but I beat both the downloaded games, so it's not so bad.
Art Style Penta Tentacles was quite fun, but a lot shorter than most. It seems more orientated to a high score challenge than anything else. Its pretty fun, but quite finnicky about how sensitive it is. As usual though, the art style series is high in quality and low in price, I'd recommend it.
Art Academy was pretty good actually, I was surprised by just how good an application it is. The lessons are great too, although perhaps a little unnecessarily slow paced. That said, I've studied art before so whilst they felt a bit redundant to me, they might not to others. The second one is tempting me, but 800 points is a bit much for no new features and just 6 new lessons.
F Zero GX was insanely hard. Im not sure it was suited to the marathon environment, it certainly needs a lot of time to learn the courses. I think I enjoyed it overall, but it was so frustrating sometimes I didn't know if I was genuinely happy about beating a level or just relieved.

Re: Games Beaten: 2010
Been pretty slow with beating games as of late. With summer here, house/yard work tend to take control of my life. Haven't even made it to the gym as regularly like I did in the winter. I do much more gaming in the winter months when I don't like being outside and it gets darker earlier.
So far, games beaten in 2010:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles- Turtles in Time Re-Shelled - PS3

Metro 2033 - 360 *new*
Bioshock 2 - 360 *new*
In the last week I've finished up a couple of recent FPSs, both of which were clearly designed with the single-player campaign in mind (unlike a few other certain popular franchises...). Both were fun and well worth playing, but if you find yourself debating between the two, I'd suggest going with Metro 2033. For better or worse, Bioshock 2 feels much like the first one (with more looting, better shooting/plasmid mechanics, and a poorer story), but Metro 2033 was a more engaging mix of bullet scrounging, frightening moments, and some interesting and memorable design decisions. In the battle of "atmospheric FPSs," I found Metro 2033's atmosphere to be more compelling (perhaps because I'd been to Rapture previously?). Both games are roughly the same length - but on the default difficulty Metro 2033 is quite challenging (and occasionally maddening when your enemies become bullet sponges) whereas Bioshock 2 is forgiving.

What a fantastic twist at the end. And the game isn't over till you see the credits.
