Snickerd00dle's summer game challenge

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Snickerd00dle's summer game challenge

Post by Snickerd00dle »

Alright, so I recently finished my first year of college and it is my first summer back home. Between work and maybe going out a few nights of the week, all my time is devoted to gaming, so this summer, what I thought I would do is pick ten games that I own and have never beat, that are regarded as classics by most people and are also games that I really wish I had played through, games everyone talks about that I never ended up finishing, and beat all ten of them by the end of the summer. I thought this would be a cool experience to share with you guys because many of you have likely beaten these games and might have info to share with me about the games or easter eggs and or hints...anyone who wants to do this as well please join, it would be cool to discuss this as I venture onward. SO!! the ten games I have chosen for the summer are in no particular order-

1.) Ico
2.) Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
3.) Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
4.) Donkey Kong Country
5.) Contra
6.) Final Fantasy VII
7.) Sonic 3
8.) Spyro the Dragon
9.) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
10.) Earthbound

I will update this regularly with my progress in the games- I will most likely get started playing KOTOR soon :) Let me know what you think

Sounds like a fun summer.

yeah thats what I'm hoping, especially because some of them will just make me so happy to beat, like sonic, which I love, but haven't played in years due to time constraints, and was way too hard for me when I was little

Okay, I envy you. I'd love to be able to play almost any of those games again for the first time. You are in for several treats.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I'm embarrassed to admit that I've only beat two of those on your list (though I've played bits and pieces of eight of them) . Perhaps I should join you in playing some of the rest...

I'm about to hit a "what should I play next?" spot in my backlog, so I'll reflect on my own list of ten and get back to this thread. Seems like a good idea to sort out a playlist of games I have been meaning to play across several systems...

yeah for sure, in that regard it would be kind of similar to a together retro kind of thing, but i'm trying to marathon these just because I have the time, but let me know if you decide to start one!- some of them like spyro i think i will finish in a day ha

I'm in for Ico, SOTN, and LOZ:TP. So if you want to do those at roughly the same time, I'm game. I have a lot of free time this month (and only a little less after that), so I'll be good to go. Let me know when you're ready to tackle any of those.

The 10 (ok, 11) I think I'll probably try to fit in:

Zone of the Enders 2
Ico
Castlevania Symphony of the Night
Mario 64
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Panzer Dragoon II/ Panzer Dragoon Orta
Nights Into Dreams
Bonk’s Adventure
Diablo
Oddworld

I have all those sitting around either unplayed or unfinished, so I think it's high time I got around to them. As soon as I finish up one of the games I'm playing now (I usually have 2-3 going at a time), I'll hop on one of these.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Donkey Kong Country
Final Fantasy VII
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Games I still need to beat myself so you are not the only one, working on TP right now.
Thinking about also taking on FF 6, FF 7, FF 8 and 4 this summer to.
