If they do get the re release whens a good time to sell your Ico original copy. Or do you think that it will hold value?

There are very few games, if any at all, that represent games as art better than those two do in my opinionPulsar_t wrote:Ico and SotC are really among the finest games ever made. They're neither underrated nor overrated, and everyone who frequents game-related sites and forums must have heard of them by now.Betamax001 wrote:I tried playing Shadow of the Colossus, but I didnt really get it and thought it sucked. I sold it, but since regretted it and wanted to try it again. I never played Ico so I guess now is the time!

Sell the ICO PS2 version? Biggest regret you will have.DaGamingMonkey wrote:If they do get the re release whens a good time to sell your Ico original copy. Or do you think that it will hold value?

Re: ICO and SHADOW OF COLOSSUS in HD?
I'm pleased this is happening.
I've long bitched about software houses who publicly scold people who use emulation to play older games on modern hardware. Particularly when said games fetch a hefty premium on the second-hand market (and none of those profits go back to the original copyright holders either).
When I can play all my PS1 games via emulation with 1080p resolution, 60 frames per second graphics and proper lighting and filtering that wasn't available on the original hardware, it makes me wonder why the same services aren't available legitimately.
Nobody reading this would be surprised that Shadow of the Colossus with 1080p graphics, full 60FPS frame rate and extended draw distances could easily hold it's own against early (or even some recent) current-gen games.
I missed both titles on original hardware, and have only played them as loaners from a friend (and not all the way through). I'll gladly buy these if they appear on PS3, whether they be download or disc (although I'd prefer disc by a country mile).

So you think it will hold value?
MVC2 went down in price with the Live release but that also included features not included with the original games.

And then the online services will be turned off, and your disc-based copy will go up in price again.DaGamingMonkey wrote:MVC2 went down in price with the Live release but that also included features not included with the original games.
And besides, own games to enjoy them. Stop worrying about their resale value. Honestly, it's the second hand profiteers that make me pleased to see first-party retro re-releases on the market.
It's software, after all. Not something physical like antique furniture.

I never played either of these games but I always wanted to. It would be great if they released these in time for the 3rd Team Ico game.
Re: ICO and SHADOW OF COLOSSUS in HD?
I I bought shadow of colossus a couple months ago and finally got around to playing it last week. I got past the first colossus which was really awesome, although I'm not sure if I'll like the rest of the game if it ends up being a bunch of aimless wandering to try and figure out where to go.

The game isn't too terribly long, and although I did get lost trying to find a couple of colossi, it didn't bother me all too much really, lots of great scenery either way.Jrecee wrote:I I bought shadow of colossus a couple months ago and finally got around to playing it last week. Just home in on the distant light with the sword. A treat the further you play.Jrecee wrote:I I bought shadow of colossus a couple months ago and finally got around to playing it last week.
