And face it, zombies are so overdone thesedays.
You blatantly haven't played Vampire: The Masquerade. Do yourself a favour and educate thyself.
O/T Dead Rising is easily the best Zombie game. Like Gamerforlife said, it captures all those parts of the inhumanity being the most shocking part of Zombie films thanks to the Psychopaths. They're more terrifying than the zombies for the most part.

Seconded. Yeah, you have to play Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines. That is such a good vampire role playing game that you will come to hate garlic, sunlight, and wooden stakes.
I always thought the 8-bit and 16-bit era Castlevania games were good vampire games as well. Part of what I love about the Dracula mythos is that he is a rich and bizarre eccentric with an extravagant castle. Even as old as those games are, they did a good job of taking you on a journey through Dracula's unusual home.

Speaking of which, Symphony of the Night actually has you playing as a vampire. And he has every cool vamp ability you could want. And his name is Dracula spelled backwards. It doesn't get any better than that. Buffy on the Xbox is fun too, you can kill vamps by staking them, throwing them into sunlight, holy water, all the classic stuff.
Since we were talking about Zombie games, anyone ever play Stubbs the Zombie? It's pretty funny and it's interesting playing a zombie game from the other side. I remember one level where I created a few zombies, then they started turning other people into zombies and eventually the whole area was full of zombies. That was truly awesome, seeing your zombie horde get bigger and bigger as more innocents get taken
