I bought a PS2 fat, model 30009 (same as the one that just broke on me recently) for $15 from Goodwill. It had no cords, controllers, was missing the hard drive port cover, etc, but it wasn't as-is, so I figured, as long as I can return it, I'll try and see if it would work. At first, it couldn't read anything, so I took it apart. It was like the union leader for Dust Farmers of America had owned it before me. I almost took a picture, it was so bad. It turned out that the lens was so dirty you could barely see it. Also, the little plastic thing at the end of the disc tray was half broken off; I'm going to have to see if I can glue it back on. I cleaned out the system and the lens, put it back together, and it worked fine. I am now back in the PS2 business. Oh, and just like the last few systems I've bought from Goodwill/Salvation Army, it had a game left inside the system. This time, it was Backyard Baseball. It's no fun, and according to VGPC, it's only worth 0.87 right now. Not my best free game find.
And relating sort of to the post above, I noticed something funny at my Gamestop today. They have more PC games than they show on the shelf. I saw some older PC games, brand new, $10, behind the counter, hardly visible. They had stuff like Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and Battlefield 1942. Apparently, if you want to buy those, you have to know they're in stock, and ask for them.

Look up the SVHC codes on google and you should be able to find the names of all of them.wclem wrote:Super Famicom and 21 games 50 bucks....
Some of these games I cannot figure out b the cart, so I will have to play. Only appears to be 3 or 4 sports games, did get a Rockman game though.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
It was at a yard sale today. To be honest, yard sales have been pissing me off lately. At the few that do have game stuff, it is usually a stack of used PS2/Xbox games for $10 each - most of which are sports games/platformers. If these idiots would drive 5 minutes to Gamestop they'd usually see that the same damn game can be purchased for $5 or less. I passed on a boxed GBA priced at $15, a PS2 (minus AV cable) @ $20 and a PS2 complete for $25. If I didn't already have a PS2 I guess these deals would be decent, but since I'd be selling /shipping I wouldn't make enough profit to be worth my while.girlracer wrote:nice find, where did u get it? i got a sealed copy from my local pawn a few weeks back for 12$dsheinem wrote:Twilight Princess (Wii) - $5
It's the VERY rare yard sale that has anything PS1 era or older. I think that is because most people who run them do at least one a year and they would have cleared out the old stuff a long time ago. Luckily, when you do find them they are usually dirt cheap. For some reason people think their stuff from last gen is still worth a pretty penny (probably because they remember buying them for $50 fairly recently).

A Boy and His Blob (Wii) - $10
Wario Land: Shake It! (Wii) - $10
Got em both new at a Sears clearance bin
Star Fox Adventures (GCN) - $7 at Gameslop
And as for the Cursed Mountain I got last week, its a pretty slow game I have to admit, but it plays like Resident Evil 4/5 except with a less interesting story line. All in all 7/10.
