Re: Is the ps3 region free?
Why do people even bother to post in this thread if they don't know? Way to spread false info, guys...
As an owner of a Japanese PS3 with NTSC-J, NTSC-US, NTSC-Asia (which is actually -J) and PAL, I can say with 100% certainty that PS3 games are definitely region-free, as some others in this thread have said (while some idiots here have said that opposite). Also, as has been said, I can personally confirm that it's ONLY PS3 games that are region-free on the PS3. Blu-Ray movies (not including PS3 games), DVD, PS2 and PS1 media is NOT region free. PSN games ARE region free. Downloadable add-on content is NOT ALWAYS region free (some is, some isn't. The downloadable content for Fallout 3, for example, is not region-free. Ridge Racer 7 downloadables are. It depends on the game.).
For the OP... was it really too much trouble to do a google search? I mean, I appreciate that you wanted an answer to this question, but this is a VERY easy question to find an answer to. As for your second question, of course there are a few good imports. What sort of games are you into?
