Re: How to Take Apart NES Power Adapters
Maybe some very thin needle nose pliers? Just remember not to mix NES adapters with those of other systems. NES ones output AC, which nearly every other adapter is DC.

Never had to open one. Do those turn at all then it won't open, or those won't even turn?

A pic? If pressed together like a rivet, maybe you could drill the heads off? Use a good Cobalt bit.

The screws or whatever are down in tubes like you get for most console bodies. But instead of being a screw or a nut, they're like a round shaft that's been squashed in a vice so there are 2 flat sides with rounded ends. Sounds like a non-removable rivet. Drill baby! No worries on reassembly, epoxy or self tappers should work.Hobie-wan wrote:The screws or whatever are down in tubes like you get for most console bodies. Bigger headache will be splitting the two halves apart, I think glued together?

Re: How to Take Apart NES Power Adapters
they are indeed screws, it's just that the heads are some weird proprietary shit. i've taken those bricks apart a few times, i used to have a bit that wasnt an exact fit but it worked.
need console mods or repairs? check my thread here:

Re: How to Take Apart NES Power Adapters
Yeah I think they are removable. Just need to find a strange sort of fitting bit I suppose.
The case is not glued together either, so it'd just be getting those rectangular shaped head screws..
I'll try and snap a photo..
