Which Company is best known for Mediocrity?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Well, if I can't say Activision, then I'll say Sega.

Sega makes a lot of great games like Yakuza, Valkyria Chronicles, Sakura Wars, Virtua Fighter... but that's not what they are known for. They are known for games like Sonic Unleashed, Sonic and The Black Knight, The Golden Compass, Iron Man and the Golden Axe: Beast Rider.

Yes because this forum is for uninformed tools  Without conducting actual surveys you have no way of knowing what the unwashed masses think of a company like Sega and Activision.

Yea but sega still makes good games.(Sonic team however)
Isn't there one company that makes games that have an aggregate score of below 70?

Sorry, but I've noticed that the expectations for Sega and Activision has dropped severely in the past few years. Both were formerly well respected companies that you could trust your money to - now, just about every project they undertake is looked on with pessimism.

"Aggregate scores" are crap. 3 out of 5 stars is below 70.

Ehh... I don't know what you are talking about?
3/5 percentage equals 60/100, so yes your statement is true.

I'm going to guess that it's the companies we don't really know about that put out the most mediocre titles. Who publishes all that shovelware for the Wii and DS?

Zoo. Zoo is the worst publisher that exists, currently.

Maybe I learned it wrong, but I don't think of "completely and utterly awful" when I hear the word "mediocre". I just think "underwhelming" or "stale". As in, just nothing special. That's why I brought up Sega and Activision.

But yeah, if we're just talking about "Who makes the shittiest games?", it's definitely Zoo.

Three out of five stars means above average. 60 out of 100 means very below average. That's the point I'm trying to make, and that's why "aggregate scores" are crap. A 3 out of 5 IS NOT EQUAL TO a 60 out of 100.

That's when we get into all these screaming contests online. "OMG, how could Publication X give Game Y a 60 out of 100? The game was great!" and all they look at is Metacritic. If they looked at the actual review, and saw they actually gave it 3 out of 5 stars, maybe they wouldn't shit bricks so often.
