The only time I didn't have a dishwasher was when I was living in my fraternity house. NOBODY wanted to do someone elses dished so they often piled up until you physically could not place any more in the sink and/or around the counter. Glad I don't have to live through that nonsense again!

I absolutely refuse to use any of the following creature comforts, relevant to this topic
-Dishwashers
-Clothes dryers
-Washing machines

I do iron clothes however.

I get this feeling that if machines ever develop sentience the first to unleash havoc upon mankind will be a mob of abused home appliances

My dishwasher is a Hobart. It's big, heavy, old and indestructible.
So a SC2 fan AND has a Hobart - how have we not talked yet?

Using a dishwasher requires less water than hand washing. Of course it requires more electricity.

We have one in our apartment. It has been having issues on and off for a couple of years now and we can't get them to replace it. Currently, it wont rinse all of the soap off the dishes completely so we end up with white crusties all over them.

I gave up trying to get it fixed as they just keep putting a band aid on it. I went back to hand washing them and use the dishwasher as a big dish drainer now. I really don't miss it and it doesn't take too long to hand wash stuff anyways. Saves on the power bill also!

No. If I have to rinse I might as well just wash.
Thanks everyone...

I'm trying to avoid as many creature comforts as I reasonably can, see how far I will go. But you can't pry my computer away from me!

Does this count?

Best damn dishwasher I've ever seen

Seriously though, I have a dishwasher in the house, but I think it's broken and have never used. So, I'm not sure which poll option applies
