not to say i'm not open to suggestions, but i don't have a ps2 emulator. i played the first two katamari games extensively when they came out and enjoyed them both.

i guess if anyone has any adventure/rpg type games that i could tackle after metal gear solid, suggest some! nothing more modern than the playstation era though, please

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe FF7 does track hours after 99:59:59. It does so in 100 hour increments by changing the color of the time play text in the save file. It goes successively something like white, yellow, green, blue, red or something like that.

Tried to confirm it but couldn't find it anywhere. Anyone else know?
Never paid any attention to that....

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night should be beatable, if you enjoy that Metroidvania style.

Cave Story! Its free, you can level up your weapons and health (rpg?) and it has a great story line. Easily beatable in a day or two.

If you enjoyed Cave Story, then Symphony of the Night would be a stellar choice. Or for that matter, if you haven't played it yet, Super Metroid. (Play Super Metroid before SotN, so you have your influences in order.)

Don't let that derail you though. Metal Gear Solid is one of the few games I know of that I'm confident in calling it one of my favorite games of all time, despite the fact that I haven't played a single other game in the series (3D, blargh).

Buy a used PS2 just for this:

ICO

Even when you finish, you'll kill the rest of the weekend re-exploring.
