God, people rave about True Blood where I work. I haven't seen it

Personally, I consider the Buffy and Angel tv series to be as good an any tv show is ever going to get about vampires. They created an entire knew mythology, totally changed how we see the character of Dracula and the fucking cool dusting effect the show created when a vamp got staked is classic. Plus, both shows had some of the best action sequences of any tv show in existence. Angel, specifically, is the best vamp show there ever was. And everything that has come out after has been not even in the same league

Actually one of the things I hated about it were the fake as hell southern accents.

Actually I think that's an offshoot of a much weirder subculture. Twilight is awful literature, but I don't think it really crosses the line into being off-kilter.
