As usual, great review! Whoa! I didn't know that Activision Anthology had so many 2600 games packed in. Gonna have to keep an eye out for that one.

It helps that most 2600 roms were 4, 8, or 12K.noiseredux wrote:thanks, bud! Yeah that Activision cart is PACKED. Definitely worth it.CRTGAMER wrote:As usual, great review! Whoa! I didn't know that Activision Anthology had so many 2600 games packed in. Gonna have to keep an eye out for that one.

I've honestly heard nothing but good about SSS. Was just not in your tastes?

Re: Game Boy Player Land (my new blog)
I played all the way through SSS and enjoyed it. But I agree the shmup sections are a little lacking. You do get powerup mods for your ship, but IIRC you only choose 2 at a time and you are stuck with them through the level. The shmup sections also happen randomly. They made it a story element that makes sense in the realm of the game, though sometimes it is annoying when you're busy running around on the surface and get interrupted for a shmup battle. You also end up in a random ship each time, so you might have a small speedy one, then a big slow brick the next.
I did enjoy the game, but It definitely could have been better, which is a shame. As Noise said, TGL did it better.
