Is this the computer I should get?
Re: Is this the computer I should get?
For $460, that's not bad at all. Just don't get the $430 model they have, for the extra $30 you get a much better CPU and another gig of RAM.

Just keep in mind apple has brilliantly removed the firewire from all new imacs (I mean, who the hell uses imacs to edit video. . . oh, everyone who uses final cut and doesn't have $2500 for a computer?
No, the iMacs still got Firewire!

They did remove the 400 port but the 800 is still very much there.

Huh, I just read an article about a month ago that firewire ports were being removed from imacs. I think it was on cnet. I would say that maybe a backlash occured so they decided to put it in again, but that would mean that apple listened to consumers which is at the top of their not-to-do list in their business plan.
Re: Is this the computer I should get?
On the note of Mac vs PC, always go with a PC. Macs cost more, you're paying a premium for a shiny computer, and have substandard hardware compared to PCs. Their upgradability is complete shit, and the only one that has any is the Mac Pro, which is extremely over priced. Mac thrives on stupid people who want computers that 'just work' and 'don't get viruses'. And both of those are completely false.

I finally picked a computer...but now i'm kinda thinking of what you guys said about cracking...because software is overly expensive.....whats the safest way to do so...i will most likely buy office and student just because Microsoft loves to test authentication...

Cost of the software you're going to use on a computer is part of the price you have to consider as part of its operating cost. There are free or low cost options such as Open Office for document creation and whatnot. I suggest reconsidering pirating and talking about it unless you want to get banned and have people start ignoring you.

No. Old school retro games, yes, it's a grey area but we're not going to stop it. Software piracy is a big no-no though.
