Beat em up games

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Here's a vid for Ninja Warriors on SNES. I really wanna get this game at some point.
I actually have a copy, but don't include it in my lists because I can't get it to work. I've cleaned it repeatedly, opened it to examine the interior(which looks clean as a whistle), done everything I can think of. It just won't work.

Shame too, as I really want to play it.

Nice vid, but AWFUL player. Kunoichi was my favorite character to play as because of her jump kick that lets her bounce back and for between enemies(which I think a lot of players don't know), but other people seem to love Kamaitachi. Those ninja girls at 3:19 were taken out of the US version that I own, which sucks.

From what I have seen this game is hard to find, even on ebay. Some Natsume games seem to be a tough find. Took me forever to get a copy of Wild Guns, but I'm happy to say now that I have two, one of which is CIB

Do yourself a favor and play it. Right now. It may very well be my favorite Beat 'Em Up of all time.
I certainly haven't played Battle Circuit. I live in the US, and I don't believe that game ever came stateside. I guess I'll have to setup MAME if I want to play it.

Yeah, it never came stateside - but that never stopped me before. Of course, if Capcom ever wanted to release it in America on PSN or an arcade compilation, I'd be more than happy to drop some bones on it.

Another cool Beat 'Em Up that never came to the US was the Sailor Moon arcade game. Had some of the best damn graphics I'd ever seen at the time.

Anyone try Sacred Citadel yet? It looks decent. God knows there's slim pickings in the genre on PSN/XBLA since Double Dragon Neon and the D&D games still aren't out yet. Neither is Charlie Murder

And here's another gem I just discovered, Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds. This one actually looks really good. I think it's an XBLA exclusive and reminds me of Scott Pilgrim from the trailer. Hell I might just go and download this one

When I was a kid, beat-em ups were the BEST genre out there. I couldn't get enough of them.

Some of my favorites:

-Final Fight
-Comix Zone
-Fighting Force (I recently learned this was originally supposed to be Streets of Rage 4, but due to licensing issues the name and characters were changed last minute)
-Golden Axe 1 & 2
-Knights of the Round
-Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems
-Maximum Carnage
-The Punisher (Arcade version, I was lucky enough to have one at the 7-11 at the edge of my neighborhood when I was a kid)
-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game
-X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse
-X-Men 2: The Clone Wars
-X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I just started up Justice League Heroes: The Flash (GBA). It is very, very fun, and it plays like a good version of Data East's Captain America and the Avengers (ARC) crossed with Konami's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (ARC). Moreover, it was developed by WayForward; so, the sprite work is excellent. It can be quite challenging at times, and although I haven't played through it yet, I highly recommend it to any one who is a fan of this genre.

I'm gonna keep that in mind, as Wayforward tend to make beat em up style games with just enough depth to keep it interesting for even single players.

I, on the other hand, played Boost mode on Guilty Gear Isuka. It's plays like one of those homebrew Beats of Rage games on Dreamcast. Take that as you will.
