When the light starts to blink just like the gameboy. If you keep pressing it will last a few minutes longer.

Dude don't even worry about the AAs, they last forever! It's like SNK wasn't satisfied in making arguably one of the best handheld consoles ever, they also had to give it insane battery life so that you'd never have to put it down!

Rechargable AAs? My aunt used to work for the company that made those coupon machines you see on grocery store aisles, so batteries were never an item for us.

A standard Neo-Geo Pocket Color will get 40+ hours out of 2 AA batteries. Now that's hardcore. It's the best battery life I've seen on any portable console, ever. Also, what's this about a CR2032 lasting several years? I have mine run out every few months, and even when I leave them in a Dreamcast VMU that is turned off, they only last 2 weeks, tops. I never really understood that.

I think ReddMcKnight meant the CR2032 in the Neo Geo. Used just for memory backup.
Agree, crappy as a main battery for the Dreamcast VMU.
