I believe the promotional credit is on preorders, but essentially what happens is when your game ships (or shortly thereafter) you get promotional credit applied to your account, good for $10-20 off your next video game purchase that ships by a certain date (a few months in the future). And frequently those games will also apply credit.

Do you have to sign up for it or something? I've preordered a few games from Amazon before, never heard of this though. Is it new or something?

It's great, about 53 stars down sofar I'm in world 4 as said before it's not as difficult as I was hoping but some of the comet stars have been tricky but that's mostly due to them being timed.

The controls are perfect but anyone else having trouble consistently pulling off long jumps?

Ditto for me. I did buy SMG2 though. I'll need to start playing the first one.

::EDIT:: It JUST arrived  The case feels pretty heavy.
Yeah, I was surprised at just how much credit I got from Mario Galaxy 2. Combine that with my $10 credit from Trauma Team and it's clear that Amazon is amazing if you're going to keep buying video games.
That makes 4!

I too have been exploiting/exploited by the Amazon game credit system. $10 rebate for SSF4, $20 for SMG2 - now Deathsmiles is only $19.99 :D Here's hoping they add some game credit to that before it's all said and done, also!
I too am looking at a $20.00 Death Smiles purchase, but I have my doubts Amazon will apply a credit as the game is slated for next month. We just need Gamestop and Amazon to engage in a price war....like now.

Not every game comes with promotional credit. It's happened in the last year or so. I'm a Prime customer, so that might have something to do with it. Did anyone get the credit who doesn't get Amazon Prime?

Everyone gets the credit, you're not special.
