5 reasons it's still not cool to admit you are a gamer.

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I will get my enjoyment from playing games with my friends, they can get theirs from watching the next big sporting event or tv show, whatever, no skin off my back.

That's the spirit.

Nerd or jock, there's nothing more appealing than someone who is just comfortable in who they are.

Even though it's gotten better over time, I think computer gaming still conjures up the image of an anti-social person locked away in a bedroom or basement, talking to "friends" who live in other parts of the world, and may have never had a decent relationship or engaged in sex before. lol
I am a PC Gamer. Here is a picture of me.
You got lucky, my friend. :)

Just for the record. I've had my fair share of women, too

Keep in mind the "anti-social gamer" is just another stereotype. Society is full of them

This is very true. I sometimes find it hard to believe that she is my wife. :)

I don't know, you're kissing the lady's neck. And she's not paying attention.

Well, I edited the statement around the same time you made that comment. Trust that she is interested. ;)

I'd be more concerned about your hair than the fact that you play video games.

She's smiling at the camera to show her approval. You're the one not paying attention

In that picture you look like Craig Charles in Red Dwarf and your wife looks like Kochanski. You don't have a picture of unborn twins in your wallet do you?

Isn't "anti-social" a bit too much? Shouldn't it be "asocial"? Technicalities aside, I would LOVE to experience more big-budget games like Ico and SotC. True the indie scene offers variety, but the budgets are oftentimes too small to make a large impact.

I mean the critical reaction towards Bioshock, which really wasn't that groundbreaking, proved that there's demand for more thoughtful games. The main issue here, again, is that people well into their thirties still support an industry that makes games for the troubled teen mindset.
