hola scene , i am interested in getting some of these.........
i have 3 questions , here goes.........
1. It says it compatible with PS2 Controllers , how about PSX Digital ?
2. It also says on the PlayAsia Website ' Must be used in conjunction with a Wired Xbox 360™ controller ' im lost to this statement what does it mean ? im a bit of a noob at 360
Probably because of the guide button and/or shenanigans Microsoft put into the 360 controller making it a non-standard HID (human input device).
AFAIK PS1 controllers use the same pinout as PS2 controllers. My PS1 pads will work on my PS2 and my PS2 pads will work on my PS1. So I assume they're backwards/forwards compatible.
That looks like a cheap knock off of the XFPS Sniper, I'd be very wary of it's quality.

Microsoft implemented encryption in their console so it would only work with authentic 360 gamepads. No one has hacked the encryption yet, so any 3rd party adapter requires a pass-through to an official 360 controller to work around the encryption.
We are prepared to live in the plain and die in the plain!
excellent info guys , usually Mayflash create decent Converter Adapters but this is an exception. I also got a response on Shoryuken Forums that it Lags and Drops Inputs.
The info i have obtained from Racketboy and Shoryuken Forums is superb , it looks like im going to get Official Wired Pads and Pad Hack them i am going to be using the 360 on my New Astro City.
thanks again to both of you for your input , it has saved me time and money
If there is a PSX controller that really has you hooked, you could mod it with the PCB out of a 360 controller.
A meticulous and patient solder job, analog stick might be the tricky part.
I'm a little confused about why you want a PSX controller for your New Astro City. Is the cab already set up for a PS1/2?
Also, if you ever intend to stick other consoles in there and don't want to be bothered interfacing a new console to the sticks every time, look up info for the universal PCB. I plan to get one or two fabricated for myself soon. Xbox 360 and Dreamcast have to be piggybacked nonetheless, but every other console works like a charm and it just requires a cord for each respective system.
There's actually some good adapters for PS2 to Xbox 360, you can find a list of them on Shoryuken. The adapter you linked is based on that XFPS adapter, so it's a knock-off of an already bad adapter, definitely stay the hell away from it.
I'd still recommend one of the good adapters though, it's probably easier than padhacking a 360 controller. Oh and make sure you show off the final project when you're done, this sounds pretty epic!
Consoles: Sega Master System, NES Toploader, Genesis/32X, Sega CDX, SNES, 3DO FZ-1, Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64, Sega Dreamcast, Sony PS2, Nintendo Gamecube, Xbox Halo Edition, Wii, PS3 Handhelds: Atari Lynx, Sega Nomad, Neo Geo Pocket Color, GBC (Atomic Purple, Pokemon Edition), GBA (Pink OG, Silver SP, Spongebob SP+), DS (Phat, iXL), 3DS, PSP (1000, Go)
thanks for the extra info CRT , Lokken and crux...........
roger that Lokken great info supplied there , i have found a Thread over at Shoryuken Forums on 360 Converters and am studying it. Aswell i didnt think people were interested in seeing Console to Arcade conversions , i am currently working at getting 360 and Saturn up and running. I will post a Thread sometime when i have success.
thanks to all for your efforts and help i couldnt have done it without you
