I think for the most part, we can all agree that a few delays is a good thing, lets just hope this doesn't get pushed aside in the end...that would suck

I saw a video on youtube (which has since been removed) of mad gear zone, and it's a total rip-off of Metropolis zone from sonic 2. The gears and moving platforms and everything. You know Sega it wouldn't hurt to use a little more variety and imagination in your sonic games. If you want to you can copy themes from Super Mario Galaxy.

So ripping off a previous game in the series is unimaginative, but ripping off a game from a different series isn't?

each of the MegaDrive Sonic games borrowed particular aspects of a levels design in subsequant games. Besides, those games were good, so I see no problem in them trying to incorporate some of that "goodness" into the new game.

I somewhat agree, but almost everything from Sonic 4 other than the graphics seems to be pulled from old sonic games. The old games would sometimes reference previous ones with certain things (carnival night had a horizontal version of metropolis' vertical bumpers, sky sanctuary had multiple bosses that were from earlier sonic games) but they still injected new stuff. From what I've seen so far every single enemy is taken from old games, the gadgets in the levels are all taken from old games, even the first boss is from the first game. As long as they can rearrange those things and make something new of it it could still be a fun game, but I still wish they had done what capcom did with megaman 9 and 10.MikeyW wrote:each of the MegaDrive Sonic games borrowed particular aspects of a levels design in subsequant games. They really should have made it an actual Mega Drive game, instead of a DLC fest. Stupid modern games business model.

So it seams the delay was because they developed it as an iphone game, then they saw that the console versions suck, and they went back and remade the console version.....
Anyone still thinks this might actually be good? I had my doubts but this pretty much convinced me that the game is going to suck. No matter how many changes they make during the later part of development, it is still going to be plagued by crappy gameplay, because what works on iphone will always be a gimped version of normal games (with the few exceptions we all know actually work better with a touch screen, but platformers are soooooo not one of those genres)

I have some friends on Partnernet playing this right now. They seem to like it but dislike some of the Casino stages.ZeroAX wrote:http://www.gamesradar.com/xbox360/sonic ... 4344974043

An article from the same site:

Makes me very hopeful. Even if it's only as good as the Sonic Advance games, I'll be happy to have an HD retro styled sonic game.
