Beat em up games
Re: Beat em up games
Not as open ended as I thought. Swapping palletes and having the knife guy shoot fire instead doesn't interest me much. I was thinking something more along the lines of redoing everything and making a Sega All-starts beat em up.
Re: Beat em up games
God Hand really did beat em up right. I see the game as the first beat em up I've played that lasts >5 hours and kept me interested the whole game. I thought the control was good.
Personally, I love Zombie Revenge...because I've played it >50 times and still can't beat the damn game...yet I still play it...
I think I felt in love with the awful control in Zombie Revenge, if that makes any sense...
The Dynamite Dekas were fun too.

Re: Beat em up games
I'm kinda interested in "The Warriors" for PS2/Xbox.
Was there any big differences between these two versions?
Did the Xbox look and run better than on the PS2, like most games?

about bloody time, someone mentioned "The Warriors"Weekend_Warrior wrote:I'm kinda interested in "The Warriors" for PS2/Xbox.

I've got the Xbox1 version and it's truly an achievement when it comes to Beat 'em up's of the last-gen
played it through in Co-Op and haven't been that entertained since I first beat Double Dragon
I'm not sure about the PS2 version, but the Xbox1 version runs smoothly and loads rather fast (have it installed on my HD)
along these lines; anyone tried out "The Warriors" for Xbox360? goes back to side-scrolling/classic beat 'em up's and albeit I've only tried the demo, it'll be one of the games from Xbox Arcade that I'll be investing in, once I get a new HD for my 360
I'd also like to give a thumbs up for Ninja Warriors, kicks ass to this day.
:edit
Ninja Warriors, was supposed to be "Shadow Warriors", which is "Ninja Gaiden" for the Arcade (it's called Shadow Warriors in Europe, don't know why)

Re: Beat em up games
Not sure if it's the same game that we're talking about, but the S-NES had a game called Ninja Warriors Again in Japan(it was just called the Ninja Warriors here), which was sort of a remake of the older Ninja Warriors arcade game. The remake was absolutely awesome and I've played through it many times. I really wish I could find a copy of the Japanese version some day, since they edited out the female ninja enemies in the US version. LameJrecee wrote:What Ninja Warriors game? And a previous post mentioned Dynamite Deka and Zombie Revenge. I really wanted to love those two games, but Zombie Revenge really did have retarded controls. It would have been excellent otherwise. In fact, everything about that game but the controls was badass.
Dynamite Deka was a lot of fun initially, but I started to hate it due to the controls not always responding the way I wanted as well the game having too many random elements to it. It took me quite a few attempts to beat the Saturn version without having to get extra continues from the mini-game and even when I did, I felt like it was half luck, half skill

Here's a vid for Ninja Warriors on SNES. I really wanna get this game at some point.
Re: Beat em up games
I do have the Ps2 version, and indeed it's an awesome game. I beat it with a friend of mine and it was 100% pure fun. I was expecting getting the same fun with Shaolin Monks and LotR the return of the king, but nope. You can't compare Rockstar masterpiece with those other 2 games.Lord_Santa wrote:about bloody time, someone mentioned "The Warriors"Weekend_Warrior wrote:I'm kinda interested in "The Warriors" for PS2/Xbox.

Lately I got Captain Commando for PS1 too, despite the loading screens is pretty cool. I used to play that game when I was young and god knows how many quarters I used on that machine.
Re: Beat em up games
I forgot about The Warriors, the game was utterly amazing, I am a big fan of the movie and they did it amazing justice.
Great game.
Great game.
