Re: Not Just A Gamer
Assistant Sales Manager for the business side of an ISP. But on the side I do computer repair (mostly data recovery nowadays), promotions and event planning, and I am a tinker. Give me any device (thats not gas powered) and Ill want to take it apart and try to fix it. Most recently vintage Pachinko machines and cathedral radios. I also dabble in writing and both videography and photography - it is kind of a family thing.

Why did I read that last sentence as 'I also dabble in writing pornography - it is kind of a family thing'?fastbilly1 wrote:Assistant Sales Manager for the business side of an ISP. I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering. I am currently working on a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. I do biometrics research. My wife and I just celebrated out five year wedding anniversary this last Friday.
I really read about video games more than I play them. Apart from that, I'm really into running, lifting weights, and general fitness. I also enjoy playing guitar. I have notes for a several sci-fi short stories I want to write, as well as a couple of video games I'd like to write, but I can't really justify working on those while I should be working on my research. I plan to pick them up soon after graduation.

Niode. I am of the belief that both Porn and Soap Operas can be written via Mad Libs, think about it.

A valid point. It was more the family aspect that irked me. I completely glossed over the 'I write porn' bit and thought; whatever brings the cash in, it's probably really lucrative. What's this about it being a family thing?!fastbilly1 wrote:Niode. I am of the belief that both Porn and Soap Operas can be written via Mad Libs, think about it.

Re: Not Just A Gamer
My oldest brother is a videographer, my older brother a documentary filmmaker/musician, and my younger brother is a still photographer: mostly bands. I use to do film work, both actual film and digital, and have owned a couple dozen of both kinds of camera over the years. I got out of it since I like constant work. Though occasionally I can be winged back into it. One of my oldman friends need some crash cameras last year for a tv show, so I found him some 35mm Arri's and built some boxes for them. One was destroyed but the other three were bought by the production company - I just barely made a profit on them, but got a trip to Miami out of it.
Sorry, I cant say what show or use specific names. NDAs.

Re: Not Just A Gamer
Married with no kids. B.S. in Information Technology. I work at a law firm doing part IT management, a bit of development and most of time doing things I never thought existed. If you look at my way of life you would never guess my hobbies: Anime, manga, video games, movies and books. And I think my wife would rather it stayed that way. My hobbies are not secret but I keep things to myself, so online forums are a must for me
I find it difficult to take time for my hobbies because of "social" things to do.
Thanks everyone...

33 year old married father of two (three by the end of the year - there goes my gaming room!). I am an Accident & Emergency doctor and besides retro gaming I am into comic books, making my junior doctors paranoid, kayaking and world domination.
Mostly harmless
