Hey guys!
So, I've been wanting to print my own shirt for a really long time but I haven't been able to create a design that I really like. I've been messing around with different videogame theme's for quite some time now and I finally came up with something.
So I decided that I should run it by you guys first!
I wanted to ask you the following questions:
1. Is this good enough to print on a shirt?
2. Should the "arcade" sticker and "16-bit cartridge" be there?
3. Should I add something else?
I know, not much of an issue but I'm really short on cash and just wants it to be as good as possible!
Thank you!

Re: Need help with t-shirt print!
Take a look at these sites a pick another font for the faux-sega genesis logo.

http://www.zone38.net/font/
Ditch the gardient in the logo, it looks bad.
I know where you wanted to head with that arcade action sticker, but it just doesn't cut it. Perhaps add some texture, change the font.
"16-bit cartridge" can be there but also, get some 80's fonts. Or from the sites I mentioned.
Report back with a refreshed design
Oh, and move the star sticker to the left and down, the composition will be more dynamic.

Hey if you like it go for it! Part of the fun is the confused look on people trying to figure out what the custom logo it means.

Yeah, I messed up on the cartridge text, it's supposed to be Helvetica, not Arial. I don't usually use Arial so I don't know why I used it.amk wrote:Take a look at these sites a pick another font for the faux-sega genesis logo.

I'm pretty happy with the "Genesis" logo. I might tweek the gradient a bit but I think it looks rather good.
I'll let your words sink in a bit, work on the design and report back!
Thanks a lot!

Anyway, here's the new stuff.
Keep in mind that I'm really going for "cheesy" here!

Re: Need help with t-shirt print!
Is this going to be screen printed? If so, it's going to cost you a ton of money because you have so many colors.
If it's just going to be an iron-on it would be much cheaper. I think iron-on designs look like garbage though. They don't last very long either.

Re: Need help with t-shirt print!
If you go to cafepress you'll get good results. They used to use iron on for everything but they use some sort of direct printing now (on the dark colored shirts anyway). Even still, my cafepress shirt from 2004 in the early style is still holding up and I've worn it about 50 times. I have a shirt from when they first started doing dark colored shirts and that one has worn out a bit, but considering half the shirts they sell at stores these days are made to look worn out I guess it doesn't matter.fvgazi wrote:Is this going to be screen printed? You know what? I have no idea!fvgazi wrote:Is this going to be screen printed? If so, it's going to cost you a ton of money because you have so many colors.

I've found a bunch of online stores that print t-shirt with your own design, I figured I'll just use one of those. I'll better read up on their printing techniques!
EDIT:
Ok, they're very honest at the site! They clearly state that the "digital" print, which I guess is the same as just ironing it on yourself, does not last that many washes. They do have a couple of other printing techniques which are said to last longer but are limited to three colors.
So should I redesign my print or just be gentle when washing? I'm already a very gentle washer and careful how I wash my printed shirts so I'm pretty confident that I can make it last as long as the novelty lasts...
