I saw the Bust-a-Move games at CCGaming. They were selling them at $30 and $40. In fact that is in part why I wrote this thread. I bought a Power Replay cib from them just yesterday for $5 which besides cheating lets you play jp imports and cd-rs. They had a couple JP ps games but I thought they were too expensive.
Welp, if you can go the CDR route, price is less of a concern. I know there has to be threads discussing import PSX games which are worth-while. Harmful Park is high on the list.

I have both Bust-a-Move games. Those prices seem sane to me, especially as they appeard to be deluxe editions. Don't quote me on that -- but my copies are simple and spartan by comparison.

Cyberbots $50, Vampire (darkstalkers) $30, and Capcom Generations 5 $30 the price on that one isn't bad but I don't need another copy of Street Fighter II. So thats why I am looking for some cheap ps1 imports so can at least try this thing out and make sure it works. But still list expensive ones too.
Boo!

If $50-$100 isn't too much for current gen games then it's not too much for retro. I've never understood people's reluctance to spend money on things that are actually worth it. Yet they'll spend like $200 on jeans or something the next day, crazy stuff.

On a similar vein, Persona 2 Innocent Sin also got a translation patch fairly recently.

Knowing Hideo Kojima Metal Gear, bought this one on a whim. Forever plodding thru Japanese character talk screens burned me out. Maybe I should English patch it and give another go?

The game has a awesome cyber punk story that keeps you coming back for more, with twists and turns coming from all angles. It has heaps of elements from sci fi, cyber punk, buddy cop, action genres that keeps the game feeling fresh.

If you have a Playstation mouse the games action sequences (set out like classic arcade light games) will be much easier, though I am 5 hours in and have only used the controller so far and still thoroughly enjoy the action scenes as they break up the classic adventure parts of the game.

The patch itself is perfect with no grammar or spelling errors as yet, never any WTF moments with the translation, they really have outdone themselves.

Really is one of those amazing games that is hard to describe how attached you can feel to it.

Only points i can complain about is there is no analog stick support, it would have made shooting scenes easier to control, but because of its release date it is understandable, and there is no light gun support (The Saturn has this).

Its awesome.

Who says I buy new games. The only current gen consoles I own is the Wii which is more priced from $20-$50 new. I buy all my clothes at thrift stores. If you think I was wrong in passing them up check ebay on all the above titles' buy it now prices. Only Capcom generations 5 is within range of the pricing but even then they're a few that were selling it for $20. Anyone who doesn't shop around likes wasting money.

Cyberbots I purchased yesterday for $13.95 + $3 shipping. So you think I should have spent 50?

Thanks, I'll have to download that patch! Shame about non-Analog, maybe Arcade Stick might help.

I can only comment on these, the ones that I own. Thats about the price I paid for them -- in very good condition, complete with case -- 10-15 a piece. Most of those are used discs, only. But, as mentioned, the ones in ccgaming are different. They look like deluxe editions, which is not what appears to be sold via that page.

Whether or not your care, is a different discussion.

But, at 10 bucks a pop, even for a scratched disc, they are great. Good two player dance battle game.

The soundtrack, if you're nuts about the game. The Robot cut pretty good.
