I've heard more than one person mention Silpheed. I like to throw around the word mediocre a lot, but Silpheed is honestly worse than mediocre. They experimented and tried to do something different, but the gameplay is completely generic and bland, and on top of that it has aged terribly. Robo Aleste and Keio Flying Squadron are both great shooters, but Silpheed should be ignored.

Keio's worth is relative to one's love of shooters (and cute 'em ups). I know some people that swear by it, and many, MANY shooters are in the triple digits - not just Keio Flying Squadron. I'd say it depends on what shooters you already own. There are better shooters that cost less.

i thought the same thing about silpheed. more like shitfeed. but with the price tag probably only being a few dollars, i wouldn't go as far to say it should be ignored.

I have Robo Aleste, and I agree, it is a better shoot em up. But I still enjoy Silpheed. For its day, it was enjoyable, featured unique graphics and had decent controls. So I don't feel I could call it terrible or even bad, perhaps just run of the mill. But it was the first shoot em up I really enjoyed as a kid, so it has nostalgic value for me. I know for my list, several of the titles were just for nostalgia, and nothing else. The Sega CD was one of my favorite systems growing up, so that is why.

But does it get undue attention? Maybe.

Incidentally, I really like Final Fight CD, but I don't own it as it is really hard to get a complete copy. I always keep my eyes peeled for one. Because I love the SCD so much, I can't buy an incomplete game.

Cody is my boy in Final Fight 1 thought he looked the coolest as a kid. Haggar I can't stand the slow speed. Guy was a ninja type I was always wanting to use the American type guys.

I wish they ported FF 2 and 3 to CD. FF2 is a little weak but still would be fun to play on the CD and FF3 was a real improvement for the series, I wanted a Cody return though dammit.

I've been playing my MegaCD loads since this topic started. I think the reason that I like the system so much as that everybody thinks that it stinks, which makes it all the more rewarding to find a game thats actually pretty good.

Havent broke Sewer Shark out of the box yet though, got really frustated with that time.

Drop Eternal Champions for Snatcher, the Genesis version will do for Eternal Champions.

Drop Flashback for Timegal. Flashback is great, but ditto to statement above "Genesis version will do."

I think that Mickey Mania, and Sega 5-in-1 should be replaced also, but not sure with what at this time. I think all games should be representative of Sega CD though, and not just slightly upgraded Genesis ports.
