this may be a dumb question but how the heck do you put a replacement door on? I was restoring 2 nes's. The 2nd had a broken door and was yellowed. So i painted it silver (came out good) and painted the new door i bought silver as well. I went to go put it on now that the other 72 pin connector is here and... well, i cant. I dont see how you lock both pins in place. I can get one in on one side by lifting the clip, but the 2nd pin is no where near ready to go in the 2nd side.
what am i missing? how do you put a new door on your system?

I don't have an NES so this might be bad advice. Can you bend the door a bit so the other pin can get into the hole? Or is it too stiff?

There are metal springs on both sides. The black trim piece holds the right side as well.
