PAL Sega Saturn , 60hz question
Re: PAL Sega Saturn , 60hz question
As a analogy PS2 PAL ICO can run at either 50hz or 60hz depending on which option you select.
I managed to play the PAL version at 60hz on my NTSC PS2 with a NTSC TV just fine.
PAL Saturn owners please correct me if I'm wrong.
I think the NTSC versions will run at 60hz on your PAL Saturn after over coming the region protection. Probably would only work on a NTSC TV.

Re: PAL Sega Saturn , 60hz question
Your wrong, but not completly.PAL Saturn owners please correct me if I'm wrong.
Sony's Freq is software controlled (IE The software tells the system what freq to run at, PAL disc @ 50hz, NTSC @ 60hz) however the Saturn is hardware controlled, so any game you put in, even with a 4 in 1 etc, the game will run at 50hz, because it is hardwired into the system so to speak.
You need to install a 50/60hz switch, that way all titles will boot in 60hz, mmmonkey has a great tut on his site, google it.
So just a recap for your info.
Un-Modded PAL Saturns run at 50hz, no matter what region the software is
You need to hard mod your console with a 50/60hz switch
Your TV must be able to accept the NTSC freq
Once done you can play your PAL games on your PAL Saturn at 60hz.
