Official Capcom CPS Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Cabinet

This cabinet has had many incarnations over the years since I have bought it.

It has been a

Marvel Vs Capcom
Red Earth
Alien Vs Predator
Armorred Warriors
Xmen Vs Street Fighter
Pro Gear

Now I think it will have to stay like it is now for all eternity.

I present to you the Official Capcom USA Dynamo Made CPS Capcom Play System Q Sound enabled Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Arcade cabinet. This uses 100 percent Capcom Arcade hardware with Original parts and the Security cart was recently serviced by Capcom Japan so it will be good for awhile.









I have never seen a official cabinet with Street Fighter 3 Third Strike so consider this one of a kind.

Now if only I could get some competition locally.

They used to have one at Blinn college in Brenham Texas also.

Official/dedicated cabinets died in the 80's, with the exception of games that require special inputs.

There is actually a dedicated SFIII:TS cabinet, the bowling alley in Rockaway/Succasunna NJ near my old house had one I played on many a time before moving down to NC.

It had a crazy forest green and midnight purple scheme, Japanese style Sanwa joysticks and buttons along with complete graphics and overlays for the monitor edges, marquee, sides and CP overlay.

I think you're confusing "dedicated" with "what the local distributor had lots of".

Dedicated cabinets get shipped overseas, as-is. You'd never see one of those cabinets outside the US, because regional distributors would use whatever they have lying around in bulk.

Here in Australia, LAI were one of the biggest cabinet manufacturers and arcade distributors when SF3 was around. There was one cabinet design in particular that every single SF3 game of that era was in, and plastered with official artwork. But I'm not going to sit here and tell you all it was a "dedicated" cabinet, just because there were tonnes of them around.

Space Invaders, Galaxian, Donkey Kong, Burger Time, etc - these all had dedicated cabinets.

Street Fighter IV generally appears around Japan in a Taito Vewlix cabinet. But I sure as heck wouldn't call that a "dedicated" setup.

True, but the rubber molding around the edges of all the paneling even had STREET FIGHTER: III molded into it.

Dunno if it was a true dedicated cab or anything and I can't verify it with pics anymore as I no longer live in NC so I'll just have to stick with my story. Definitely understand about the distributor thing, I've seen a lot of matching cabs for some games in one area and then the completely different real deal later on.
