Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
I went to check out a new retro store in my area I mentioned earlier, SUPER GATER GAMZ. The store was pretty cool carrying stuff from all popular new and retro systems. Nothing really obscure but they did have several Virtualboys and games, Atari Lynxs. The had several arcade cabinets hooked up. Their prices where very comparable to Plantrade and Gamestop, some a little higher and some a little less. So some great pricing compared to some other indendent retro stores in my area. Here's everything I got.
N64 Arcade Shark arcade stick nib $15 (best deal I got)
JSRF/Sega GT xbox cib 99¢
Kung Fu Chaos xbox cib $3
the King of Fighters Neo Wave xbox cib $6
Grabbed by the Ghoulies xbox cib $3
Resident Evil 4 wii cib $10
Viewtiful Joe gcn cib $3
Alien Homind gcn missing manual $4
Beyond Good and Evil gcn $15
Space Griffon VF-9 ps1 cib longbox $4
Warhawk ps1 cib longbox $3
Gaiares genesis $3
Excitebike 64 n64 $5
They had a lot more I wanted like Mega Bomberman CIB $11, Heart of the Alien $20, and Lighting Force cib $7, but I needed stuff to come back to. So I recommend this store to anybody in the Atlanta area. The only gripes I have are loose games are in plastic bags on a hook, so its hard to search through carts and you have to take the games off to get the ones you want, and anything that isn't priced, which a lot of the retro cardboard boxed stuff isn't, there is no set price so they come up with prices looking online which makes them not as big of deals as other stuff in the store.

Cheers Hobie, am I right in thinking that the Mega drive 1 and II have different adapters?Hobie-wan wrote:This is true for US systems, it should probably be true for PAL systems too.alienjesus wrote: BTW, the seller stated that the turbografx should work with the Mega Drive model 1 power adapter. Can anyone confirm this? (PS, the turbografx is PAL region, in case that makes a difference)

The upside of those problems is that they aren't putting stickers on any of that stuff as not to damage it further. I'm sure there is a better way, but not having seen their setup its hard to imagine how to change it. Anyways, good to hear you've got a good shop around.pepharytheworm wrote:The only gripes I have are loose games are in plastic bags on a hook, so its hard to search through carts and you have to take the games off to get the ones you want, and anything that isn't priced, which a lot of the retro cardboard boxed stuff isn't, there is no set price so they come up with prices looking online which makes them not as big of deals as other stuff in the store.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
I found an outstanding garage sale yesterday; just kind of stumbled upon it because there were about three others in the area. I just wish I would have gotten there earlier because I'd love to know what I missed out on by not getting there sooner.
Anyways, I got the following for $26:
1 Smoke & 1 Yellow N64 Controller w/ great sticks - $2
Sega Genesis console (model 2) w/ 1 controller and AC adaptor but missing AV cable (I finally have a Genesis but I need an AV cable) - $5
Red Game Boy Pocket and Pokemon Blue - $10 - Needed batteries but works great
Golden Sun & Mario Kart Super Circuit (GBA) - $5
Playstation Games - 3 Longbox and 1 double case game - $4
NBA Live '96 - missing instructions
Destruction Derby - missing instructions
King's Field - Complete
Brigandine - The Legend of Forsena
The PS games were bundled together so all I really saw was the longbox games and couldnt see Brigandine (just knew it was a double disc game) though I had never heard of it either. Looked at it later and saw it was a Atlus RPG so I got excited... turns out it's worth a lot more than I expected. Like I said, I wish I would have gotten there earlier. Right before I got there I saw a group of three college looking kids leaving with a huge bag of items - in baggies just like the stuff I got.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Just bought myself a 27'' Sony Trinitron on CL for $75 three days ago:
It was FUNTING. HEAVY.
But, I now have the TV I've been after for nearly a decade as I've loved the look of it's cabinet ever since I first saw one as a kid. Input-wise it has two AV and one S-Video (no component, but there technically isn't much of a visual difference between the two on an SD set) on it and makes everything look amazing. Gotta love how sharp and amazing Trinitrons look!
The seller threw in the matching stand for it, but I decided to stick it in another room so it's not pictured.

Just picked up "Worms Blast" (GBA) from Gamestop for $12.99.
Not particularly valuable, but I believe it's hard to find.

"No used products found within 100 miles of this ZIP code." Apparently so. Is the game good? (Worth $13?)dedalusdedalus wrote:Just picked up "Worms Blast" (GBA) from Gamestop for $12.99.
