What are your favorite Sega CD games?

Post by whupthewickedwurm »

Here's my favorites:

Lunar - Probably the 1st straight-up RPG I ever completed. It made me want to be a Dragon Master too.

Snatcher

Keio Flying Squadron - wacky fun and a really catchy soundtrack too

Final Fight CD

Lords of Thunder - AWSOME soundtrack. (I haven't played the TG 16 version though)

Sonic CD

What about you guys? :)

I only have 2, but I bought them because they're my favorites!

Hook
Secret of Monkey Island

Hook is so awesome because its the only version of the game with actual cd movie quality sound. If you haven't tried it you gotta!

The movie kicked ass too. :D

Man, it really is incredible what CD-quality sound can do for a game. I remember when I borrowed all my friend's (Witch Boy) Sega CD games for the 1st time... after playing nothing but cartridge games for years. It was so cool!

I will remember to give that one a try... and Secret of Monkey Island... hey aren't those both pirate games???

Oh the Sega CD, the fond memories!
My favorites were:
Sonic CD - The game kicked ass and the soundtrack kicked harder ass!
Lunar 1 and 2 - RPG gaming goodness! Ghalleon is one of the best RPG bosses characters ever!
Beyond the Limit - F1 racing game with many options and nice presentation.
Adventures of Willy Beamish - Point and click game with a cute story and voice work for all characters, including the narrator! (Though the game did have bad load times).
Sewer Shark - Simply because this was the first game I got (it came with the system).
Mortal Kombat - No, just kidding. That game sucked. It was basically the Genesis version with arcade quality sound and load times. My brother was pissed when he bought it and played it.
=====================
I rather be playing video games.

Yeah, gettin Y's for TG-CD made the $300 I paid for the "upgrade" all worth while. Great voice, awesome sound, just a great game...but this is the Sega CD thread...

Mis-Adventures of Flick for me is my fav, RoboAleste and Sol Feace are up there too. E. Champions was a great game, but too hard for me to play. After you see all the special deaths and stage endings there was not enough for me...oh, it's still in the collection, don't get me wrong. And Keio all the way, back then anime was hot, so that game was on a pulse for me.

Heh, I have Ys I & II for the Turbo but I don't have the system yet. :)

Robo Aleste is pretty good and I really dig the music to Sol Feace. I recently found Silpheed at Goodwill and I'm playing that now. So far it's pretty neato.

I'm sure you have popped that bad boy in a CD player and checked out the tunes. The one track w/ the water drops (if you play the game, it's the cavern stage) was just so clean and polished. Of course MagicEngine can solve you non-TG-CD owning problems.

i freakin love the sega cd with all my heart. the games may suck, but i just love the over sized cases.

out of all the games i own my favorites are:

-adventures of batman and robin: decent driving game that i got into for a while. i could never beat the 'virtual reality' level.
-android assault: i hate how the first 6 levels are preschool, but the last level, level 7, ramps up the difficulty x10. it toys with you and BAM! you are dead. i never beat this son of a bitch.
-chuck rock 2: son of chuck: most people probably hate this game
-final fight cd
-flashback
-mickey mania
-pitfall
-sonic cd: okay game, but i wasn't a fan of the time travel. i think you could get different endings depending how you time traveled throughout the game. too bad its a sonic game i don't give a shit about endings.

i definitely hope i find lords of thunder in the wild someday. that is my most wanted game right now.
if you took a shit, please put it back
