My rant to help stupid gamers - please chime in.
I think I'm going to start telling people I see at stores not to buy shitty games. So when I see someone get excited about a new Wrestlemania game for the PS2, or a crap Wii generic ripoff game for $50, or a broken sports game or racing game that got pumped out even though it's budget didn't allow it to be properly completed I'm just gonna say, "Don't buy that."
I think it's the right thing to do.
I'll try and save all the moms and dads and grandparents trying to do their best but failing. And kids too young to know an better who select games based on cover art I'll just be like, "Here - buy this instead. Trust me."
Lately it's been rare that I've even been to these stores but next time I'll be on the lookout.
Isn't that what we should all be doing? Shouldn't we want to help those who are too stupid and ignorant, or too young?

It's a noble sentiment, but buying shitty games has its place in the universe. I like to think I have superior taste in video games, but I doubt I would have developed taste if it weren't for a bunch of bad game purchases I made when I was a kid.
When I turned 6, I got to pick one game at the Sears video game counter. I could have bought Legend of Zelda, and I was seriously eyeing that because it had a gold box. Did I buy it and go home with a good game? Nah, that would have been too smart. I opted for Friday the 13th.
I also bought Hydlide when I was a kid. Hydlide!

No, I tend to stay out of other people's business. If some guy came up to me in a game shop and told me what to buy, I'd tell him to get lost. What you like isn't what everybody else likes. It's my money. True, there are some games that would be utter crap to anybody, but they'll live and learn. It's not nice to call people "stupid" because they don't know much about games. I'm sure there are things you don't know a lot about due to lack of interest. Does it make you stupid?
I could school you all day on which fuel pumps work best on an SRD20DET or which valve springs would be strongest in an RB26DETT pushing 2.5 BAR...or the advantages and disadvantages of a B18B LS/VTEC swap...I can go on all day. If you had no idea what I was talking about I wouldn't think you were stupid.

No. This is you being a gigantic elitist prick. No one gives a whooping funt what you think, especially complete strangers.
There hasn't been a "WrestleMania" game for the PS2, ever. And the only Wii games that cost $50.00 are brand spanking new titles, like Super Mario Galaxy 2, (not "generic rip-offs" whatever those are). So you don't even have an idea of what in the blue hell you're talking about. Leave everyone else alone.

If someone is asking, yes, but otherwise yeah, people will think you're butting in. Stores are also likely to tell you to leave if you're simply telling a customer not to buy stuff. Now if you saw someone that is obviously trying to decide between to games, you might ask if they'd like your opinion.
