I'm sure those of you playing GR realized there were no games released last week after all. They're delayed until further notice. They say more games are still coming, but don't say when. Apparently there were some big layoffs at Krome (the dev behind GR). Sounds like they should have delayed the launch entirely until summer or fall. I've been upbeat about GR despite the problems, but it looks like it's just been left to languish...

Yeah, the whole thing really pisses me off. It's such a great idea that has just been completely botched so far. Personally, I'm willing to wait for them to work out all of the bugs and get this thing on its feet, but a lot of my friends have all given up on it and probably won't care anymore when it does get going.

Uh, anybody playing anything from Gamepak 003? I never thought I'd like anything Atari 2600...but Keystone Kapers is awesome. It's like a cross between Shao-lin's Road and City Connection, and like Shao-lin, the difficulty and speed ramp up nicely, so the better you get the harder the game is in turn.

I had Keystone Kapers when I was a kid. It was actually my favorite game for a while there. Good game from what I remember. I have like $40 worth of points sitting idle, might as well grab it sometime.

Need to check out more of these. Played Pitfall last week and might end up buying it on impulse at some point. Just been really busy and playing some other games when I do get screen time.

Thought I would bump this just for the hell of it.

Been playing Juno First, a Konami arcade shooter. Mixes the look of Defender with the gameplay of Galaxian, but you can move anywhere on screen, including backward. There's a Pac-Man powerpill style scoring mechanic whereby you snag the powerup and every ship you hit gives you a multiplied score for a limited time.

Thinking about picking up Black Widow, an Atari arcade dual stick shooter with vector graphics. Which is weird, because by and large I'm not into dual stick games at all.

Also, Gyruss is coming this week. That would be the first actually recognizable Konami game since the very first week. Some people on other forums believe we should be getting close to the time when they announce some new publishers — if indeed there even are any at this point. Anyway, still somewhat disappointing but the potential still exists if they can ever bring any better games along...

Great classic Arcade games! Recently suggested these great games for the
"What Are The Hidden Gems of the 80's & 90's Arcade." thread.

Interesting that Juno First, Black Widow and Gyruss were all mentioned in that thread - all GR games I'm either playing or interested in.

So they finally released more games then? Game Room really had potential but it seems like they are wasting it for some reason. Hopefully they start up with a regular release schedule. I'll have to check it out again and give my joystick some more use.
