Mini Neo Geo MAME cabinet

Post by fedexin »

Hey all, I just finished up a project I thought would find interest here! I've always wanted a Neo-Geo "big red" MVS, but never got around to getting one. After seeing the Talking Classics mini cabinet that was up for auction, I got inspired to make one for myself.

Walkthrough 1 (general overview):

Walkthrough 2 (inside):

Walkthrough 3 (control panel):

I'd been playing around with the Ultimarc components for a while in a mock-up control panel, and placed them in this cabinet. I'll have details on the build soon, I just wanted to post the walkthrough videos now.

Excellent work! That only took three weeks?! Congrats man!

The LEDs for the buttons are really slick. :)

Thanks! The LCD is a 17 samsung, and the PC is as such:

Intel Dual Core 2.7G
2 GB Ram
ANTEC|BP430 430W Power Supply
GIGABYTE GA-G41M-ES2L LGA 775 Intel G41 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
250GB Seagate HD
EVGA 512-P3-1213-LR GeForce 210 512MB

It runs the more modern 3D games really well, and didn't cost that much from Newegg.

I had a blast building and designing it, and am looking to build a couple more!

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Thanks! I made it small because it's for my soon-to-be first born. I want it to get plenty of use, so I made it pint-sized! I'll be able to play along on 2 player games with a USB controller plugged in under the control panel.
