Anyone compose chiptunes?

Post by fvgazi »

I just got famitracks. I'm still learning the program. I think I'm going to incorporate it into some of the music i've been writing.

Does anyone else have experience using old console chips to make music (like acutally hooking up the console to a computer)? I'm curious as how to do it without an emulator thing like famitracks. I recently got into composing electronic music (as I've played drums/bass/guitar for years).

I also use Fruity Loops and Sonar 4.

No.

You should, however, start pinging people associated with the demo scene. There are still alot of artists using trackers and utilizing old chips like the SID and POKEY to make interesting tunes.

I'm fucking around with FamiTracker, too. The tutorials I'm reading are piss poor, they're either written for an older version or are just terribly written.

Not yet. I do have a keyboard that makes 8-bit noises if that counts for anything.
