Mega Man question
Re: Mega Man question
Just give up. No matter how hard you try, you can't win the game. You'll only beat 7 bosses. As we all know, You Can't Beat Airman.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Mega Man question
MASSIVE FAIL from the guy with the Mega Man avatar. That's Quick Man's stage. Flash Man is just full of ice and has bitchin music. And the lasers are trivial if you use Flash Man's power, but then you don't get a free 50% damage against the boss.noiseredux wrote:ddue, I've been playing MM2 since it was released -- and I don't care whate ANYBODY tries to tell you, Flash Man's stage is HARD!Ivo wrote:I didn't play Megaman when I was young and Megaman 2 is actually rather rough. Particularly nasty IMO is that stage with the lasers. You just have to memorize that crap.

Y'know, as I typed it I was pretty sure I had the wrong name, but the right one escaped me. Eh. Whatever. I love playing the games, but in all honesty probably would F up many of their names if quizzed.MrPopo wrote:MASSIVE FAIL from the guy with the Mega Man avatar. That's Quick Man's stage. Re: Mega Man question
MM2 and MM3 are the two best Mega Man in the series for me, but 3 would stand out the most because I grew up loving that game/music.noiseredux wrote:I strongly disagree with this statement. As great as 2 is, I've always felt 3 was just as strong. Beyond that, there's lots of MM games I highly recommended!ujnhunter wrote:Mega Man 2 is the only Mega Man you ever need to play.

Re: Mega Man question
All the MM3 lovers must have played that game first in the series, because it must be nostalgia speaking that makes you like it... MM2 is the ultimate MM game. MM3 introduced some lame ass guy named Proto Dude (?) a silly robot dog and a worthless sliding move. Come on now people. What else could go wrong with the MM games? Oh yeah... Charge Shot.
Re: Mega Man question
Personally I always start with Flash Man first, and would then usually go out of order, ending with Quick Man. It's been a long time since I beat Mega Man 2 though.

Re: Mega Man question
actually I owned MM1 when it came out... but 2 and 3 have always been longtime favorites for me. Along with the first X game.ujnhunter wrote:All the MM3 lovers must have played that game first in the series, because it must be nostalgia speaking that makes you like it... yeah, the first X game was the best in the series also. X2 and X3 i never got into it much. I felt like it was rush, but i did enjoy X doing the shoruken move.noiseredux wrote:actually I owned MM1 when it came out... but 2 and 3 have always been longtime favorites for me. Re: Mega Man question
That is one of the fun things about the series, how everyone has their own personal order. That, along with the initial fun of figuring out enemy weaknesses and the fun of then learning how to beat them with only the mega busterAck wrote:Personally I always start with Flash Man first, and would then usually go out of order, ending with Quick Man. I liked Megaman 3, but it seems to have its fair share of haters. I thought the second set of robot masters was actually a cool idea
MMX is classic, but it was outdone in every way by MMX 2 and 3. I especially love using Zero in MMX 3. It's really the only game in the series that lets you use his buster gun at full power. MMX4 is the best in the series though. It completely changed the series with new graphics, cd quality music, anime, more story elements and two playable characters with completely different styles and different story modes. After ripping people apart with melee combos using a light sabre in MMX4 with Zero, I never wanted to play as X again. And if you think using the shoryuken in MMX is cool, nothing is cooler than going mana y mano with the Ken/Ryu inspired Magma Dragoon in melee combat using Zero in MMX 4. Course you could cheese him by bringing the ride armor into the fight, but that's less epic. Oh, that's one more awesome thing about MMX4. I think it was the only MMX game that let you use a ride armor against a boss, which says something about how badass that Ken/Ryu clone was.sevin0seven wrote:yeah, the first X game was the best in the series also. MMX7 would be the next game to try and radically change the series, but it didn't do a very good job

Re: Mega Man question
Its probably controversial of me to say, but Megaman 9 is easily my favourite megaman. I played 2 on VC, and it was ok I guess, but I didn't understand all the hype. Maybe because i had to endure it in 50hz, it just felt sluggish, and the metal blade made the game boring once you got it. In 9, it felt like all the weapons were genuinely useful even outside of boss fights, whereas i didn't get that impression from megaman 2 at all. Also, the boss that someone posted a picture of is unfairly cheap, and incredibly boring. Running out of crash bombs and having to grind for power ups on the sniper joes and mechs outside the room was not fun at all.
