Should I buy an import to save money?
There's a rare game I want that generally sells for $70 (which is way too expensive for my blood). I've noticed that the Japanese version sells for about $30. That seems at least reasonable to me. It's not a text-extensive game (not an RPG or anything) though there are some cut-scenes. What say you lot?

Which game is it?
Re: Should I buy an import to save money?
I say yes. I've done this before. When I wanted to get Final Fight 2 (SNES) I couldn't find it for a reasonable price, but I found the Super Famicom version for $10. All the important stuff is in English. The only thing that's in Japanese was the story, and it's not like I was gonna read that anyway.
What game is it, what system?

Also, if text isn't an issue then it makes sense to buy the cheaper one.

I only import if its a japan only game and its a fighter or shmup generally I like to keep it local but if I was desperate for the game and short on the cash I would probably buy the import that being said.
Can anyone explain to me why they release a game in PAL format but not bring it stateside? It has the language requirement does it not? They should just be able to code it to have it work should they not? I've always wondered but never bothered to figure out.

Why are you being so secretive about what game it is? Was there a gameboy port of Hot Slots or something?noiseredux wrote:

Lol, well I was gonna say, if it's a SNES game or something, you have options (you could put the American version on the cart or even have both versions on the cart) but being that it's a GB game you're limited in space inside the cart.

I don't think he wants people to be looking for the same game and drive up the price. I'm sure once he has it, he'll tell us the name.Limewater wrote:Why are you being so secretive about what game it is? Was there a gameboy port of Hot Slots or something?noiseredux wrote:
