Sega Nomad battery pak question?
Hey, I just bought myself a Sega Nomad a few weeks ago and it came with the rechargeable battery pak(bummer as I was hoping for the one that uses batteries). I tried charging it for several hours but no dice, it just won't power up. Is there a way to fix this? And also, is this a common problem among the Nomad rechargeable battery paks? I've heard similar stories as for them not working.....
Re: Sega Nomad battery pak question?
If you look inside the rechargable pack you'll see it's just several recharable AA's wired together. Over time they start to corrode and leak, which makes them nonfunctional. The only way to fix it would be to open up the pack, remove the old one and install in new ones. I believe someone once described the procedure on the forums. Give the Hacks & Mods section a look.

You could also Mod it to accept good old akalines.

Thanks for all the quick replies guys!
And I'll be looking into those topics in a second but I can't seem to open the battery pak? How do you open it?

Re: Sega Nomad battery pak question?
If you have the regular battery pack. I would suggest getting some good rechargeable batteries.
I asked the question of which ones to use in this thread and have been surprised how good they work. I get 4-6 minimum playing time between charges. The batteries and charger were around $45 shipped.
