Games you enjoyed better on one console because of controls

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

true the gamecube controller is perhaps the best controller for 3D games ever.
The only thing I hate about the Gamecube controllers is tactical feedback overkill of the trigger buttons. Shoulda been smooth.

I do like the Dreamcast controller for the large size, just like the Barracuda for the PS1.

How about this for comparison. Exact same game off the PS1 bleemed to the Dreamcast. In this case the PSX controller wins out simply because more buttons for all the functions. Well maybe an unfair comparison considering the game was tailored to match the PS1 buttons. Wish I can find a Bleempod-Bleempad.

Really? I thought the GC controller wasn't too good. I much prefer the 360 controller.

I love the Gamecube controller; I just wish the D-pad was bigger. It took me years to realize that Nintendo designed the D-pad so small so that it would match the GBA D-pad.

This brings me to my next point: The Gamecube controller is great for GBA games via the Gameboy Player. I also love the Gamecube's analog trigger buttons for racing games. The Need for Speed games were great fun with those analog trigger buttons. Too bad The Simpsons Hit and Run mapped the gas and brake to the face buttons instead.

I loved Soul Calibur II much more on the Gamecube than on the PS2 simply because of the superior controller.

Indeed. It's the #1 reason I bought the game, and I've never even TRIED another character. Haha.

I liked Okami on the Wii better. I probably saved an hour of play time with the painting controls on the Wii compared to the PS2. Although I think some of the controls, like dodging, were hindered because of bad waggle controls.
The web's first video game public library! http://videogameexperiment.com rents all games for free and sells them for less than Ebay and Amazon! Plus we take anything in on trade-in.

because those never get ported to the pc (seriously with the exception of SF4 I think the last fighting game on pc was mortal komba 3 or 4, and the last platform game was rayman 2) so, for all genres that are actually released on the PC keyboard and mouse = better :P. well with the exception of racing games, which usually do get released on the pc.

and yeah fighting games and 3D platform games are a bad idea with a keyboard. I can't believe I played mario 64 on an emulator without a gamepad, and actually became good at it. I still remember how my fingers hurt during the bowser boss battles since I had to press the arrows really fast in the right order to make a round of the virtual stick

What about the Prince of Persia games and Psychonauts?

3d Platformers can be done properly on the PC, just look at American McGee's Alice. It just takes time.

Cave Story is a solid platformer on the PC. Arrows keys move, aim up, interact with objects, Z is jump, X is shoot, S switches items. Simple for a 2D platformer. 3D platformers would be harder, but doable.

I happen to like controllers for most stuff, and have a lovely PS2 to USB converter for most games
