Games you enjoyed better on one console because of controls

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Ever since buying that I have no complaints about fighting games on the 360. :D

Most fighting games are better on one system than another (Dreamcast / Saturn has nice controllers for fighters).
Dreamcast has a nice controller for fighters? I hated that controller for most games, fighters included.

I'll echo the opinion that if the game requires precise aiming a mouse is unparalleled. Max Payne is more fun using kb/mouse, but Gears is best played using the 360 pad. I generally prefer playing TPS using gamepads. WASD keys are digital, meaning limited sensitivity.

RTS is possibly the only genre where it's not fun for me to play using a gamepad. No new revelations in this topic so far.

I hate playing Quake 3 Arena on my Dreamcast with the standard control settings; in my opinion, Unreal Tournament had a much better control scheme. Needless to say, while I haven't actually tried it, I know I would like Q3A better on a dual-analog controller.

Which controller are you using? I'm using the classic controller and I haven't seen this issue. Then again, I'm not very far into the game yet.

I sometimes prefer games on a DS Phat over the lite, just because the buttons feel a bit less laggy, but that is nitpicking.
That is because Valve games are made for PC and THEN ported to consoles, and most modern shooters are made for consoles and then ported to the PC. That is why they suck (on PC) and PC gamers don't buy them. But don't tell it to the executives let them think it's piracy.

no it is not nitpicking. the lite has crappy shoulder buttons, and a horrible dpad that hurts your finger when you are trying to do a power slide in Mario Kart DS.
BUT the lite has a perfect stylus, so its lite for stylus games, and phat for tight platform games and mario kart

I hate the Dreamcast controller. Period. Don't get me wrong, I played it. I played the hell out of Tony Hawk 2 on Dreamcast. But when 3 came out for Gamecube and I got to use that controller instead, there was no going back.

true the gamecube controller is perhaps the best controller for 3D games ever.

I agree with the guy who said Street Fighter II was better on the Genesis than the SNES. I cannot stand using shoulder buttons in fighting games (other than perhaps for blocking). Same thing with the Saturn vs. the PS1; the Saturn control for fighters is godly, while the PS1 control has the same issue as the SNES.

I also agree that the 360 d-pad (as well as the original X-Box d-pad) is horrible for 2D games.

The perfect controller would've been the Wii Classic Controller IF it had 6 face buttons and DC/X-Box style triggers for racing games.
