iPhone/iPod Touch Games

Post by Cronson »

I recently downloaded We Rule on my iPod Touch and really like it. It has a feature were you can connect with friends and work on each others farms. If anyone wants to add me, that'd be cool. My gamer tag (as with everything) is Cronson.

Likewise, I figured I'd start this thread for us to recommend any cool games we come across on the App Store. So far I'm really liking Plants vs. Zombies and Drop 7: I find I play a lot more of a game if it allows you to listen to podcasts while playing it.

Bumping this for more suggestions. There has to be a good source for reviews somewhere. Everything I can find is outdated or ridiculously unorganized.

Espgaluda II. Cave did an amazing job porting this to the iPod and keeping it very playable.

I'd like to hear some recommendations for click wheel games for my iPod Classic (sixth gen).

If you can put rockbox on that version of ipod it usually comes with some click wheel friendly games.

For click wheel iPods you have to get Peggle. I put countless hours into that game on lunch break while listening to gaming podcasts. Its a great game. I think Zuma is also a click wheel game and it too is amazing. If you want a deeper game, Song Summoner is a very cool Square Enix RPG that uses your music library in game.

So I am considering getting the new iPhone when it comes out. I'll obviously want to do some gaming on it - but I don't get how some of these games (e.g. Espgaluda) can play well without tactile controls...I've had PDAs and PDA phones forever and the emulators that use touch screen controls to replicate a D-Pad and buttons have always been pretty poor...

Also, since this will be my first Apple related purchase, what else should I know? Can I transfer my own MP3, AVI, MPEG, etc files to the thing without using that iTunes bloatware? Am I going to run into DRM issues for anything? Enlighten me, please!
