I bought this game about a year ago and only recently started playing it. Wow, I'm impressed by the amount of creativity that went into the game.
I think the best platform for playing this game is the GBA Micro. It's a great game for picking up and playing for 5-10 minutes.
One of the tougher mini-game for me was "To the Top". You control a guy who has to travel up the staircase. This requires you to spin the GBA multiple times in a clockwise direction. But you need to watch out for disappearing steps. Sometimes there's a giant ball that is coming down the stairs that force you to backtrack a bit. It took me multiple times before I was able to beat it.
Another tricky game was "Focus". It requires you to spin the GBA like a telescope to focus on an object. You need to recognize that you're going more out-of-focus quickly and reverse direction.
Are the newer WarioWare games similar to Twisted?

The idea is always the same, but of course there's a different focus. If you liked Twisted you will probably like the others. Smooth Moves (on the Wii) is the one that most resembles twisted. Touched (on the DS) is also good.gtmtnbiker wrote:Are the newer WarioWare games similar to Twisted?
But probably Twisted is the best of all of those.

Not sure about the DS version. Really love the GBA Wariowares for the random games.
The regular GBA Warioware Inc is pretty good, the Cube version lost some of the cutscenes and sounds.

Re: WarioWare Twisted for the GBA
I love Twisted. An argument could be made that it's the best original GBA title. The first Wario Ware is also very good and many of the game designs (tap a-button at the right time) connect with the new Wario Ware DIY (allowing only the 'tap' interaction).
I have Touched on the DS and it's very fun, too. Other than DIY, which I love for its geekiness, I don't know if I could pick a favorite handheld WarioWare.

It was the only non-budget title i bought for the gba (always had a ds)
PLayed the crap out of it

I've played WarioWare Touched, and 95% of the microgames were not bad at all. But if you really liked the motion control, the Wii installment might be something you'd want to look into. Wide variety of microgames, and several different ways to hold the Wiimote (i.e. some micro games require you to hold the wiimote sideways, pointing at the screen, balanced on your hand, up to your nose, etc.) The up to 12 player survival mode, as well as the other multiplayer modes that test your microgame skills, make for an excellent party game.
I used to have Twisted. One of the best GBA games ever made... until my asshole neighbor stole it right before he moved.

Re: WarioWare Twisted for the GBA
twist is by far the best warioware game imo (although granted i missed out on a few). the mechanics of the game are well done and the twist aspect works really well. not to mention the addition of a rumble that really helped spice the game up. i loved that one mini game where it tells you not to move (to keep and egg from falling) and the first thing you think is to move the gba, lol. if i can remember right there is this one boss that always gave me a hard time, you had to shake to the beat in the right direction. god i miss that game.

Smooth Moves is a lot like Twisted. Like the above poster, I think Twisted is the best WarioWare game. But you'd enjoy Smooth Moves and Mega Microgame$. Stay away from Touched and Snapped, though. I don't know about DIY. It's supposed to be good, but I've never played it.Ivo wrote:The idea is always the same, but of course there's a different focus. As a Warioware game, DIY is OK to 'meh'. As the next generation of Mario Paint... a fun sandbox to dink around in, an easy to use song editor, a programmer's toy, DIY is unparalleled!BoringSupreez wrote:Smooth Moves is a lot like Twisted. I actually beat WarioWare: Twisted! on the GBA a month or so ago. It was pretty rad overall. I've been on the lookout for the original GBA WarioWare game ever since!
