Anybody please answer this question for me?

Post by mas »

I was at my friends house watching the sox get railed by the yankees on sat. I told them how I am investing into the dreamcast. Now somehow or another one of the guys starts saying how the psone was a better system than the dreamcast. Now I love both systems and i have both systems so I am in neutral but my buddy chris was getting all upset saying how the dreamcast was better because of the games and grafix. While I admit the graphics is alot better and the dreamacst games are great but You cannot forget the psone. The rpgs final fantasy, chrono trigger anything from squaresoft for that matter, all the crash games twisted metal metal gear solid, the list goes on.
Now the psone and the dreamcast do have some of the same games and yes the ports on the dreamcast do look and play better but that does not mean that the psone ports of street fighter alpha 3 or resident evil 2 or 3 or dino crisis, etc games for the psone sucks. I feel like the dreamcast and psone are both great systems but my friends chris and bob are really pissed so I told them that I would let you guys give them your info by commenting this forum and straiten these guys out that the psone and dreamcast are both great systems and they need to just have fun with the games and play. I also will have them over in a couple days to read this stuff and play the dreamcast and the psone so please respond. Thanks

The dreamcast wasn't really meant to compete with the psx. It was meant to take on the ps2. If that doesn't smarten them up, then it's probably not worth the effort. Just be really pleased that you have the capacity to thoroughly enjoy both.

I don't see the point in these sorts of arguments. Ultimately it comes down to personal preference of games you like.

There's only one way to settle this, and that's Thunderdome style: two men enter, one man leaves.

Yep, yep. The Dreamcast was the first system of the 6th Generation of Consoles.

Not only did the Dreamcast had PSX ports, it also had N64 ports (SW: Podracer, ShadowMan, etc.) and there are Dreamcast games that are ported to the PS2 (MDK2, Code Veronica X, etc.).

In the future, could you choose a better Subject? Give the readers a sense of what the thread is about. Something like "Comparison discussion of PS1 and Dreamcast" is more appropriate.

They are both excellent systems with their share of unique games. I have never been inclined to argue in reference to my system being better then your system.

In every generation I have had a system that I suported more then the other systems. But at the end of the day I felt fortunate to be able to enjoy games for everything I owned.
