I already have a busted ps2 controller. The analog is stuck going one way, so I'd need to solder some resistors into place to make it neutral. Aren't the PS2 pads those plastic sheets? they're a pain to get contact on, some of the late PS1 pads are the same, there's a certain serial number on the PS1 that most of the modders look for when stick building.
