Help with my sega saturn

Post by joehero »

Hey guys, I recently bought a sega saturn and a few games. The problem im having is when I put in Nights the sega saturn logo shows up for about 10 seconds then it loads to a screen that has forward, back, play, etc. It also says "checking disc format" then begins to play the audio and shows all the audio tracks. Other games I have load, but this doesnt. Any idea why? Thanks!

Is it an original or a copy? Polish the disc, clean the lens.

if you have access to a second saturn, a friends or Retro store, you can confirm if the disc is good.

It is an original, I do have another saturn that I have tried it on with the same result, and I have tried to clean it several times. It is scratched up a bit, but so are some others that play fine, also the audio plays just fine. I will try cleaning the eye and see if that helps. Thanks.

2 Saturns, same result not a good sign for a great game. Might need commercial polisher treatment.
Watch that store associate at the video rental place as not to be too aggressive on the motor polish.

If other games work fine on the Saturn then its probably the disc. But it couldnt hurt to clean it because thats important too.

QFT. Hopefully getting the disc resurfaced helps out. Ever play Nights before? If not, then I really hope you get it working. I love that game.

Yeah, I would watch that disc like a new born babe when it is getting the scrub down at the store.

UPDATE: After cleaning the eye, I wouldnt recognize the discs anymore. I did some research and found that if I adjust the dial next to the laser it could help, and It did! Had my Nights discs buffed out, but still not working. Thanks anyways.
