Oh hey, I know one! I just beat it a minute ago! Guilty Gear XX. Doesn't matter which version, although the one I just beat was Accent Core Plus.
Oh, most the game is fun, sure. Until the fucking final boss, I-No. Let me tell you something - I have never gotten a smile from thinking about a person being mutilated in the most horrific ways imaginable... until I-No came along.
Fucking Megalomania. It wouldn't be so bad if she wasn't able to cancel into another version of Megalomania at free will. She just loves to fake you out with the version that requires you to get all the way back and duck - and then cancel it once you're in position to the version that requires you to get right in her face and double jump just before it starts. To survive this, you have to dash up to her as fast as possible and then jump - but not jump while dashing, because then you'll be behind her and the attack will instead magically home in on you.
Blocking does just as much damage as taking it without blocking. You can't hit her out of it. She takes no damage while she's in it. If you hit her with a multi-hit super, she can start Megalomania while she's getting hit and then hit you in the middle of the very same super you hit her with! It's a free move for her (no super used during it), yet it does FAR more damage than any super in the game!
Fucking bullshit. Everybody complains about SNK bosses, but none of them pull bullshit like this.
What's your most hated game?

One of my favorite games ever. Not sure what there is to hate about such a great game.

Re: What's your most hated game?
Haha, Mr. King, let me offer you my hand for a shake. I have no hard feelings against you whatsoever, but I do believe we're just about as opposite as two people with such similar interests can be. Both lovers of retro games and hockey, but CBFD and the Red Wings... hoo boy.
To be honest, I've never been fond of Rare's platforming formula. I find it all pretty mundane, and with plotlines of such little consequence (Donkey Kong 64, Banjo Kazooie series) I find little reason to continue on with playing them when my main incentive is a collect-a-thon that I know I'll never have the patience to get to the end of, and any reward I get for doing so will simply not be worth it.
Conker's Bad Fur Day though... I just get pissed off by juvenile and/or mean-minded shit. I mean honestly, I don't see what's supposed to be funny about a sentient piece of cheese begging and screaming for mercy, looking terrified as the game prompts me throw him into the mouth of a fucking annoying-ass mouse who farts in my face. To be honest, that's as far as I got. I wasn't going to perform that task for the game. I didn't care if there was a singing piece of shit in store for me, or a close-up view of a cow's anus as she relieved herself of explosive diarrhea.
I mean, it's interesting because it was on the Nintendo 64 and all, and I know I'm in the minority on my opinion as most gamers are not really very sensitive people at all, but I'm not entertained by being disgusted, honestly. It just makes me angry. And I can handle such a thing if I feel there's redeeming factors, but I just didn't feel like there were any for that game since the cinematic Rare-platformer archetype doesn't do anything for me. I DO have a great sense of humor, but Conker just didn't do it for me at all.
Anyway, I realize that I'm in the minority here, so don't take my personal feelings strongly.

Yeah, don't worry about it, we are just talking about videogames here. It's nothing personal, everyone has their own tastes. Like I don't like rpg's at all, I could never get into the turn based combat while 3d and 2d platform games are probably my favorite genre. I can understand how someone could be turned off by the potty humor in CBFD, I guess I found the parody and other things actually more humorous than anything in the game, plus beneath all that I thought the gameplay was great.
Oh and "Let's go Red Wings!",
got themselves in a bit of pickle right now though.

In possibly a bit of an ironic twist, I can't stand Family Guy.
Re: What's your most hated game?
Do many of us really enjoy Family Guy anymore? I liked it for the first couple of seasons, but once they started making new episodes, it just didn't seem as good. Too many reference jokes, not enough original material for me.
Re: What's your most hated game?
I hate all shitty arcade ports.
I also don't really care for any of the music games (rock band etc.) Although, I love UmJammer Lammy and Parappa.

Mind giving some examples of what you consider to be good/shitty arcade ports?fvgazi wrote:I hate all shitty arcade ports.
