Portable RTS's DS/GBA

Post by milkmanv1 »

Hey guys, I've been playing a bit of Grim Grimoire, and wanna expand my RTS collection. I'm always on the hunt for good portable games (I go out and buy up GBA games like it's my job haha) and I got to thinking. I had mech platoon for the GBA when I was younger and thought it worked pretty darn well actually. So basically I was just looking for all you knowledgeable guys to throw me some games to checkout

I know of
GBA: Mech Platoon
Does the GBA have anymore worth mentioning?

DS: Robocalypse, I'll be checking this one out stat.

PSP- Any to speak of?

Just wondering guys, Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

P.S. By RTS I mean, REAL TIME (which you know, is in REAL TIME) Strategy, not a SRPG. A RTS! I've hounded the internets and found alot of people confusing the two.

DS:

Heroes of Mana
FFXII: Revenent Wings

...though I honestly would recommend either.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I think Nintendo should have published Red Alert (the original) in the DS and call it a day.

Hell, they should port most 486 era classics and call it a day.

I'm not aware of any. Meh, I was so thrilled when i heard AoE was ported to the DS only to see a crappy turn based game.

I'd like to help, but I prefer Turn Based Strategy games. Of which the GBA has quite a few I could recommend. Sorry.

You already said the best GBA RTS - Mech Platoon. Napoleon was a decent one (EU/J launch title, no NA release), but Mech Platoon was, and still is, the best.

I liked Lost Magic (DS), but it will not be for everyone. I'm rather fond of "gesture recognition" in games (Black & White, Arx Fatalis).

Eh I'll just count my losses and Play mech platoon, just ebayed a complete copy, might as well have the box to display for the one and only good rts for the GBA.

I like Turn Based Strategies too, but they start to get frustrating after awhile. I love the fire emblem series.
