Nintendo Entertainment System - model 1

Super Nintendo Entertainment System - model 1

Nintendo Gameboy Pocket

Sega Saturn - model 1

Sega Dreamcast - model 1

Sony Playstation - model 1 (2)

Sony Playstation 2 - model 1001

Nintendo Gamecube

Nintendo DS Lite

I know a local shop that sells used PCEngine, TurboGraphix 16, SegaCD, 32X, and Jaguar consoles; I'm thinking about buying a PCEngine and SegaCD/Genesis. Once I have these, i'll take some pictures.

I am a collector in the way that RacketBoy has recently described. I buy games and systems that I think I want and I pretty much don't care about packaging or condition as long as they work and will continue to work for some time. Obviously, I prefer good condition, but I'm also going for price. I do have an existince to fund outside of games.
So here's what I have...

-Original NES: Works relatively well, surprisingly
I had a Generation Nex but I sent it back. Video output was poor quality, audio was poor and innacurate, and compatibility was crappy. Contrary to their web site the Nex really is a NOAC (NES on a chip) just with snazzier packaging. If you want more details on this visit http://nesdev.parodius.com/.
-Original SuperNES
-Genesis 2
-Playstation
-3 Saturns: 1 pristine, 1 with a mod chip, and 1 with a region switch
-Dreamcast
-GameBoy Advance
-Soon, a new DS

I have the most games for the Dreamcast, with about 50% of them being legit, the others burns procured after the final demise of the Dreamcast. The Saturn is a close second, about 75% of the games legit, all burns procured WELL after the final demise. I have a large number of Genesis and NES carts as well. I have fewer SNES carts, about equal to GB and GBA carts. And I have only a few PSX games. The system simply not grabbing me by the lapels and throwing me down has been part of that.

TMI, sorry :)

It was a good article. Addresses some of the problems with game collecting. Most people aren't buying to play, and that's sad.

i got a few consoles

after reading some of the posts here my collection seems small :D

Nes(spanish verison) im not spanish tho :P btw if your nes has trouble playing games and lets face it most nes users know how annoying they can be. Cleaning the cart with alchoholic solvant with a cuetip makes a all the diffrence. Altho there is a warning for such a thing but i have yet to encounter any problems. (just thought i´d put that handy tip here since a lot of ppl here own Nes)

Snes (another tip the power supply and rf output is identical to the one Nes uses wich came in extra handy since the snes i got had no such things..thats what i get for buying a cheap snes)

Nintendo 64
it was fun back then but i´ve played the games i have for it too much but they were good games no question

Sega Master System II (well i used to have one and miss it greatly)

Sega Mega Drive II nice but the old mega drive is just way better looking.

and i also got some sort of a fake mega drive the colors are diffrent on it and the controllers are smaller well they are 6 button controllers tho and it has built in games not that great games and the power supply is diffrent so i cant even plug it in without some sort of a converter.

Sega Saturn (soon to be modded just ordered a mod chip i cant wait to play shinging force 3)
got lot of games for the saturn most of them are good Galactic attack for example :D and i also got the worst game ever made Virtual Hydlide.

Dreamcast
Soul Calibur and Shenmue games i've played a lot it has other good games but these two are the ones i have the most fondest memories of (btw finishing shenmue 1 again before i play my burned copy of shenmue 2 and i had to get a iso for it because A. I dont want a xbox for 1 game B. it never got released where i live since the dreamcast was of the market by the time Shenmue 2 came out)

Playstation
i only got that one for Final Fantasy and Metal gear stopped using it since it started to randomly reset itself in a middle of a game very annoying :P

You know, though we're talking about all these great systems, I think I have the most nostalgia for the one I let get away. I had a TG-16 with CD-ROM unit and Super System 3.0 card AND an Arcade Card Pro. I had Dracula X for the system as well as tons of other great games (Go Lords and Gates/Winds of Thunder!). I played that system SO much. I finally traded it with someone on BT Garner's Turbo list for a Saturn with games and accessories. I felt, at the time, like I needed to move forward.

I do not regret that trade. My Saturn gave me equal hours of joy and exploration. But still, a large part of my still longs for that which I traded away. It's the one system that got away. That and the Saturn are my 2 favorite systems of all time. I liked the Dreamcast, but the Saturn and TG-16 are truly my dream systems.
