ha. grass is always greener on the other side man. When I heard that marvel vs capcom 3 was coming out all i wanted to do was play it on that lcd beast you had. Thinking of building one of my own sometime in the future.DCsegaDH wrote:Emulation is okay, but I would rather have the real arcade hardware or something like yours. I really like my arcade setup, but I mostly play CPS2 games because those are my favorite. Later I might get CPS2 arcade hardware set up on my Showcase cabinet and then I'll get one of those 100 in 1 arcade boards for old school games on a separate cabinet btw I ditched the LCD and put in a 27 inch crt tv in mine so it isn't all the way arcade authentic but its way better.
edit: better yet I'll get a Naomi arcade on a separate cabinet!
And I agree. I would also love a naomi. mvc2. capcom vs snk 2. Cannon Spike. Guilty gear. Power stone. Thing is a powerhouse.
I have a half constructed Dreamcast to JAMMA piece of hardware. It works beautifully, but isn't correctly wired for all 6 buttons of each controller. Once i get the cab to where i want it, that piece is my next project. Should be an easy fix.

Good luck ever getting to actually play the arcade. Or seeing your wife again.MrPopo wrote:See if you can find an arcade port of Bejeweled.J T wrote:I always envy you guys with the arcade cabs. Re: arcade work....
I'd get that rig for Battle Circuit alone. All the Darkstalker games, Alpha games, Marvel vs Capcom and Giga Wing sure as heck ain't nothing to sneeze at either.
As for the system I'd really like to get - Atomiswave. King of Fighters XI, Samurai Shodown VI, Metal Slug 6, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, Hokuto no Ken, and Rumble Fish would be mine.

LOL. I haven't tried putting her in front of the Bejeweled yet, but she hated Puzzle Quest. I'm not sure if it was the gem matching or the RPG nerdishness that turned her off though.MrPopo wrote:See if you can find an arcade port of Bejeweled.J T wrote:I always envy you guys with the arcade cabs. In her case, I would just need to get an arcade version of Bananagrams linked through face book. She loves that game and it brings out her crazy competitive side. She swears like a sailor when she loses and howls like a barbarian when she topples someone's high score. It's probably good that she doesn't play more violent games. I'd hate to see the outcome. I imagine peels of maniacal laughter and blood. Lots and lots of blood.

The trick is to start out with a cocktail game. Something that has function as well as form. "Its not just an ugly arcade game, its a functioning table!"J T wrote:LOL. Anyway, we had games in the living room. Eventually we had to move into a larger house, and I'm "forbidden" from having games in the upper floors of the house. I've run out of room in the basement, and am actually storing a few games at a friends house (they used to be in my place of work, which is no more). I'm going to try and get the Marble Madness in the living room.

Good luck on your project, I had a Dreamcast in my first cabinet for awhile its a sweet system for newer arcade games.nickfil wrote:ha. grass is always greener on the other side man.
