Question: I switched a capacitor on a NES board...

I switched a capacitor on a NES board. The capactior that was on it was polarized and the one I replaced it with is nonpolarized. It powers on and the capacitor isn't exploding, so I'm assuming it'll be okay. I was just wanting to make sure it will work as a permanent fix and nothing will mess up down the road.

Should be fine. As long as you got lucky and put it in the right way.

It's nonpolarized. It doesn't have a "right way". Does anyone else have a comment? I thought people here turned old game systems into time machines and crap.

I think it would be alright as long as the resistor is the same value as before.

Yup as log as the µf value was the same and the voltage was the same or higher.
