Niode: I remember the same deal in MvC2. I remember fighting a guy on the PSN leaderboard who was, at the time, undefeated.

I fought him - clearly beat him - but he pulled the plug AS MY CHARACTER WAS GOING INTO HER WIN POSE! Didn't count against him. Fucking bullshit.

From what I understand, they patched it to fix that problem, but my God that pissed me off. Suddenly, it became VERY APPARENT why he was "undefeated".

dsheinem: You are playing on PS3, right?

It's like my friend OX said, while he hasn't run into a rage quitter yet on PSN, he's run into dozens on XBL.

Don't let ragequiters get you down! A ragequit by a crap player is the best possible outcome. Winning against them just feels like beating up on a 7 year old. Losing is obviously really really bad. Beating someone into pure rage or giving up entirely on a match by using mindgames is FAR more rewarding than points.

When tournament mode comes out that will be sick. No better way to prove your might than to play a bracket based tournament. Good thing its not coming out right away, everyone is either playing their old main from SF4 or learning one of the new characters. The game is kind of in a pre-meta game phase. Everyone is still learning whats new for their characters right now and just starting to learn match-ups. Soon enough most everyone will have rote patterns down and frame traps in place.

Huh? The tournament mode isn't in the game? Does this mean it's going to be DLC??

Yes. It's mentioned in the manual.

Just one thing on PS3 RQ'ing. I played my first 4-5 games on Fight Request, but got disconnected / RQ'ed on about 30 seconds into each match, usually when I was about to win or loose the 1st round. I then played network mode 'quick match' without any significant problems, but when I tried 'create match' i had more disconnection problems. I had previously had a problem with Warhawk only letting me play 20 secs of a game, so tried going direct to the ADSL modem, and fight request works perfectly.

To cut a long story short, the game sometimes disconnects people with shit routers like mine (D-Link DVG-G1402S). I think it's something to do with NAT, but don't pretend to know what that means.

I'm pretty sure these guys are rage-quitters. They always quit just as I'm about to win. If they quit halfway through a match or after a particularly complex combo (I've noticed on fairly laggy games that when somebody starts getting into cancels and big combos that the game will lag for a while after the execution, something to do with the netcode trying to keep up) then I'll know it's just a connection problem. No biggie, it happens to the best of us.

These guys are seriously waiting until the last minute of a game with no lag, I get the last hit and that's it. They disconnect. I don't get a win, battle points or player points. They don't get a loss on their record or lose PP, so technically they win, I lose.
