Wii presents for my girlfriend

Post by MikeyW »

My girlfriend just won a hardly used Wii off ebay for £85 with 3 games.

It's her birthday this weekend and I said I'd go buy a stack of cheap games, a new wii-motey thing, maybe I'll buy her a Wii-points card thing.

Thing is, I've never followed the Wii, and I honestly don't know much about it.

I'm looking to spend about £40 on this stuff, and I need your guys help to make sure I get her some fab little games.

She's a simple gamer that likes platformers, cutesy RPG's and puzzle games. We've got far too many FPS's and gore-related games on the Xbox.

And another thing, are second hand wii-motes okay to buy or is it best to just get a brand new one?

Help me racketboy.com, you're my only hope!

I will second Boom Blox, I play it with my girlfriend from time it time, other than Wii Sports (Tennis) and Tetris (GB) I have never known her to touch any other video game.

Definitely Boom Blox. She'll like it because of the cutesy characters, and you'll like the chance to blow stuff up.

Also, the Harvest Moon games are always a safe bet. Even though the series peaked with Harvest Moon DS, in my opinion.

And, finally, if you're looking for a hilarious point-and-click adventure game for the Wii, try Sam & Max Season 1. Although I suggest getting it on another platform. The Wii port is absolutely atrocious, with constant slowdown, and te game freezes constantly; there's a point where I'm at right now in the FIRST CHAPTER where I can't progress, because it freezes up on the same location every time!

New Super Mario Bros Wii is a must-buy in my opinion. My daughters love playing that game.

A Boy and His Blob and Wario Land are both really nice looking 2D platformers, with the former particularly also being puzzle based.

Stereotyping. Take a chance and get House of the Dead. She might love it!

Anybody else try Little King's Story? It's an awesome game, similar to Pikmin in some ways, but definitely sounds like a fit.

if their fully working yes, but if you want to buy a new "third party" brand (more cheaper), get her a nyko wii remote. the new version has a built in wii motion plus.

If you don't have a wii classic remote controller. that will also be a good idea.
